It is not known that contact and feeling arise simultaneously. Why? Because the term "simultaneous" is also seen to apply to what is immediately following. For example, in the phrase "being together with loving-kindness," it is not known that loving-kindness and mindfulness, the two limbs of enlightenment, arise simultaneously in one moment, because they are with outflows and without outflows. So, what is it? It is understood that mindfulness, the limb of enlightenment, is cultivated following loving-kindness. Similarly, here it is also understood that feeling, perception, and thought arise following contact. Therefore, this cannot be the source of contact and feeling arising simultaneously. The phrase "those dharmas are mixed" means that they are mixed, arise together, and possess similar qualities. What are "these"? This will be explained in detail: the certainty of the object means that the object is not different. The certainty of the moment means arising in one moment. Does feeling gradually experience the same object, then thought thinks, and then perception combines and understands? Or, in the very moment that feeling feels, does thought think, and perception combines and understands? This is not known, because there is doubt. Therefore, this cannot be the source either. "Life and warmth, etc." This will be explained in detail: In that sutra, it is said that the dharmas of life and warmth are mixed, not unmixed. Because for the simultaneous, "mixed" is said in the sutra. Therefore, it is established that there is uncertainty of the moment there as well, whether it is feeling or thought, because life and warmth have no object. Simultaneous is the object of the simultaneous. Therefore, in this way, it is thoroughly established that feeling is simultaneous with contact. The previous statement, "The consciousness associated with feeling is not contact, because the conditions are not complete," the answer to that statement is "in the sutra..." This will be explained in detail: For example, consciousness is the faculty, the object, and the consciousness

The gathering is not, consciousness does not exist without the root and the object. Therefore, if it is consciousness, it must be admitted that the root, the object, and consciousness gather. If one thinks of gathering, but not touch, therefore, it is said that if it is gathering, it is not touch. Your touch is only gathering, therefore, the previous consciousness is not touch, which is contradictory. Therefore, it will contradict the sutra, so it must be admitted that all consciousness has feelings that arise together with touch. The feeling that arises from the gathering of the mind and touch has already been said in the sutra of the feeling of the mind. The six kinds of close conduct of mental happiness refer to the fact that after the eyes see the forms, they approach the forms that are like the place of mental happiness. After the mind understands the dharmas, it approaches the dharmas that are like the place of mental happiness, until the place of mental unhappiness and equanimity, it should also be said in the same way. Among them, the close conduct of mental happiness, mental unhappiness, and equanimity, when all are put together, become eighteen kinds. How are these distinguished? In detail, because the nature of mental happiness, mental unhappiness, and equanimity are different from each other. There are only three kinds of close conduct of mental happiness, mental unhappiness, and equanimity, not eighteen kinds. From the point of view of correspondence, there is only one kind of close conduct of the mind, because everything corresponds to mental happiness. From the point of view of the object, it becomes six kinds. How? Mental happiness, mental unhappiness, and equanimity that are related to form are just conduct related to form. Similarly, those related to dharma, etc., until conduct related to dharma, so it becomes six kinds, not eighteen kinds. Establishing from the three refers to nature, correspondence, and object. How? The nature of mental happiness, etc., are different from each other, corresponding to the mind, and each is the object of the six objects such as form.

Thus, by distinguishing from each of the three, it becomes eighteen. The reason for saying "because of focusing on each determined form, etc." is that the focus of mental pleasure, etc., which focuses on form, is only form, not other objects. Those who focus on touch are also the same in between. Therefore, the fifteen that closely move to form, etc., are focused on the unmixed. The so-called "the three that closely move to Dharma are both forms" means that they are focused on both the mixed and the unmixed. If one focuses on form, etc., or eye, etc., or form, etc., together with Dharma, then it is focused on the mixed. If one only focuses on the Dharma realm and not on others, then it is focused on the unmixed. "Depending on the mind," etc., will be explained in detail. "Depending on" means the meaning of depending on. "Because of closely moving to the object" means repeatedly focusing on the objects, etc. The sound of "saying" is used to clarify other schools. So, because of relying on the mind and closely moving to the objects, those that are compatible and incompatible with the mind will also become close movements of the mind. The so-called "because the mind makes the objects, etc., closely move" means repeatedly causing them to enter. "Because of repeatedly moving" is a synonym for causing to enter. Regarding the question "Why the feeling of the body?" This is not only based on the mind, but also on the eye, etc. "It is also not a close movement" means that it is not a true distinction, because it is compatible with non-discriminating consciousness, and mental pleasures, etc., are discriminating, so by virtue of it, the mind repeatedly enters the objects, etc. The so-called "the pleasure of the third dhyana," etc., will be explained in detail. If the feeling based only on the mind is the close movement of the mind, then what about the close movement of equanimity in the third dhyana?
