It is not birth, without it there is not, it ceases, cessation is also unreasonable. Because it is separated from birth and cessation. The sound of saying "make a sound" is impossible. What do these things want, it is temporary dependent arising, it is dependent arising, and there are also non-dependent arising dharmas and so on. In the sutra, it says, in the sutra it is asked what is ignorance, and it is not said like that the five aggregates. Then what is it? Elsewhere. Not understanding what the previous limit is, it is explained in detail. What is the definitive meaning, if the meaning is analyzed by the Blessed One himself, that meaning is that, not others, so that is also not the provisional meaning. From the perspective of the teachings, everything is the distinction of the teachings. The main thing is how to show, and also made distinctions, so the teachings are not definitive meaning. The metaphor for that is like the footprint of an elephant and so on. About those, it is explained in detail, hair and so on, those are not only the earth element, but also form, smell, taste and so on from the arising things, entering without difference, there are also, because the entering part is more, so it is the main, therefore hair and so on those show the earth element. Similarly, here also it is explained in detail, the five aggregates with twelve branches, in those situations also show what is the main. In that case, although there are other dharmas such as form and feeling, in the state where ignorance becomes the main, ignorance will be shown. Similarly, it should also be said for formations and so on. This is not a metaphor, it is not a metaphor because the characteristics of the metaphor and the meaning are inconsistent. In order to show the inconsistency of the characteristics, it is explained in detail from that, in the sutra like the elephant footprint, because there are other things such as color earth etc. there, so what hair etc. those will be incompletely displayed, what are sounds etc.? It is the earth element.

Oh, it is not said that way. However, from that, what is the earth element? It is hair and body hair. In detail, the earth element is shown only through hair and so on. The so-called "apart from hair and so on" means that in the past there was no earth element as an inner self, so it is said "this," which is only to show the earth element completely. Similarly, the so-called "also from this," in the Sutra of Dependent Arising, only ignorance and so on are shown completely, not with any remainder. Like this, there is no other ignorance apart from the prior limit and so on. Similarly, it should also be said for formations and so on. Or, if it can be shown in the same way, just as there are remainders in tears, dust, mucus, and nasal mucus because the earth element is not shown, if it can be shown in the same way, if it depends on there being a remainder of ignorance, it cannot be shown. Thinking this way, the word "if" is added. If there is no other ignorance in the continuum of the five aggregates, but there are form and so on, therefore, in detail, it is said that "the types are different," form and feeling and so on are not ignorance itself. The so-called "what exists or does not exist" is explained in detail: if ignorance itself exists or does not exist, then formations are definitely existent or non-existent, but the other aggregates are not, so it is a limb. Similarly, it should also be said for formations and so on. Like this, although there are five aggregates, only those associated with ignorance have formations, but those without ignorance do not. For example, although arhats have five aggregates, they do not have meritorious and non-meritorious and unwavering volitional consciousness, that is, there is no volitional consciousness that connects the continuum. Because it approaches birth, it is approaching. The approach of merit is approaching merit. The approach of non-merit and the unwavering approach should also be viewed in the same way. The so-called craving and so on, for those without ignorance, although there are five aggregates, feeling afflictions
