In order to attain it, neither affliction nor birth arises, therefore, in terms of the nirvana with residue, it is called attaining nirvana. The antidote here is the path of non-interruption. When it is attained, it is the nature of manifestation. Thus, it is contrary to the afflictive seeds to be abandoned by it and the dependent arising related to them. Subsequently, the afflictive seeds become the dependent arising of thought. Thus, the antidote obtains a support that is extremely contrary to the arising of afflictions. Even if a support that is contrary to the arising of all afflictions is obtained, birth does not occur. Thus, it also becomes contrary to the occurrence of birth. Thus, if the seeds of affliction are not stopped, then a support that is extremely contrary to the arising of affliction will not be obtained. If the antidote does not arise, then the seeds of affliction will not be stopped. It is also said in the scripture that this is explained in detail. The example given here is "non-arising," because it is a synonym for non-birth. The teacher explained it as non-arising in the sense of the cessation of arising, therefore, he spoke extensively of "if this is the case." Here, what is shown is the thing itself that is distinguished by non-arising, not merely the cessation of arising, so if it is thought that this is not the basis for understanding nirvana as merely non-arising, then the seventh should be regarded as powerless, which is explained in detail, and should be connected with "in order to accomplish the desired meaning." If it will not arise here, then what is the meaning of what was said? If it is connected with "if it exists," then if this exists, then this non-arising is non-arising, then nirvana will become permanent, and therefore will never arise. Because the meaning of the support is impossible, it is placed elsewhere. By what alone? By the path. To attain it is to attain nirvana. Does it itself exist? It is at the time of manifestation. If it is attained, it is obtained, connected with the path. May you wish that suffering does not arise, is to wish for other nirvana.

This is a treatise called "Examination of the Absence of Self." "The liberation of his mind" refers to the state of the Bhagavan's passing into nirvana without remainder of aggregates. Because the deceased is nirvana, and there is no one who passes into nirvana, therefore nirvana itself does not exist. This is also extensively discussed in the Abhidharma. The Vaibhashikas say: This meaning is not so. "Absence of entity" does not mean absence of body, nor does it mean absence of self-nature. Why? Because it is not the meaning of the word "entity." If this meaning is not so, then what is it? There are five kinds of entities. "Entity of self-nature" means that self-nature itself is an entity. "Entity as it is" means the meaning of object as it is. The object itself is an entity, that is, the entity of the object. Regarding "entity of possession," the entity of possession is the entity of possession. "Entity of cause" means that the cause itself is an entity, that is, the entity of cause. Regarding "entity of what is taken," the entity of what is taken or what is grasped is the entity of what is taken. Here, grasping means taking as one's own. Therefore, here it is shown that it is spoken in the sense of the entity of cause, not self-nature. Because it is explained in the Abhidharma that unconditioned dharmas are established as without cause, but not without self-nature. Also, from these fruits, the part that is extensively described: Among the five fruits with characteristics to be explained: the Vipaka fruit, the Adhipati fruit, the Samanantara fruit, the Purushakara fruit, and the Visamyoga fruit, which of these fruits is the result of which of the six causes? In this regard, first of all, it has already been explained that the Visamyoga fruit is not the result of any cause. The Vipaka fruit is the last cause. It means that here the Vipaka fruit must be the result of the Vipaka cause, but not only the Vipaka fruit, because the Adhipati fruit is not prohibited. The Adhipati fruit is the first cause.

It is. It is called, this is the owner, that is the owner's. Here, both of what must be grasped have faults, so they should not be necessarily grasped. Thus, in some productive causes, there is also the fruit of the agent, and in others, there is also the fruit of the owner. In that case, then the fruit of the owner is the first, and it would be a fault to say that there is no fruit. The fruit of the agent is not for everyone like the fruit of the owner, so it is not without fruit for the purpose of knowing this meaning. That itself is the one who has power, called the one who dwells in the nature of non-obscuration, only that one. In the productive cause, there is also the object of generation, called there is also the object of generation. From this, it will be known that, except for the unconditioned, the productive cause, the agent, the abandoned, and both forms also have the fruit of the owner. As it is said: The first arising is not the unconditioned, the conditioned is only the fruit of the owner of the conditioned. Thus, for the five aggregates of consciousness, called, the ten sense bases such as the eye are not the productive cause of the consciousnesses such as the eye, but other co-emergent causes and so on. Mind and Dharma, as appropriate, are the equipotential cause, pervasive cause, co-emergent cause, and corresponding cause of the consciousness of mind. Therefore, only the ten are mentioned, but not the sense bases of mind and Dharma. For the container world, called, the container world is unspecified, not according to desire, and produced by virtuous and non-virtuous actions, but it is not a Vipaka fruit, because Vipaka is uncommon, and it is defined as sentient beings. Apart from that, there is no other cause, so it is only its productive cause. Such things should be connected, called, how to connect? Because the desire to pick up and look arises and so on. Cause-congruent, equipotential, pervasive, fruit, called should be connected with the occasion.
