Because it becomes the nature of the cause of all accompanying aggregates, it is all-pervading. For that very reason, this is the common cause of afflictive dharmas, so it is established as distinct from the equal share cause. By the phrase "also of other categories," it is understood to be the common cause of afflictive dharmas. Among them, the aggregates, cessation, and path to be abandoned by seeing, and those to be abandoned by cultivation, are accompanying causes, and are other categories to be abandoned by seeing the truth of suffering. Similarly, those that are different from what is to be abandoned by seeing the truth of origin are also other categories. Therefore, because it is also the cause of those other categories, the word "also" is understood to also be the cause of its own categories. The accompanying cause that was previously produced also completely grasps all the unproduced afflictions of the five categories as the fruit of the same cause, so the phrase "by their power" is extensively explained. Therefore, the Blessed One also said, "All afflictions are rooted in the view of the aggregates, born from the view of the aggregates, and originate from the view of the aggregates." Because the noble ones have abandoned the accompanying cause, and also thinking that abandonment cannot be the nature of the cause, the question is asked, "Is it that of the noble person," etc., extensively stated. A noble person refers to a stream-enterer, a once-returner, and a non-returner, and it is manifestly intended for these people, because it is possible for these people to engage in accompanying afflictions. The Kashmiris say that all afflictive things, etc., are extensively explained, because those that have already been abandoned cannot become the nature of the cause in the state of a noble one, so what is it? Those only exist as the nature of the cause in the state of an ordinary being, because whatever is the cause of something is never not its cause, therefore, even though those are abandoned, they are called the accompanying cause of afflictive dharmas. The source for this is as follows, in the treatises, from the cause to be abandoned by seeing

It is said, "What are the dharmas that arise in accordance?" Here, the source of the cause that pervades, which is the common cause of the dharmas that are afflicted, is this, which is called "dharmas that are afflicted." Here, since there is no distinction made between the afflicted of the noble ones or ordinary beings, it should be understood that it also includes the noble ones. Although there is no distinction made as "arising from the cause of what is to be abandoned by seeing," only those that pervade are taken. Similarly, although it can be said that the fully ripened is also without distinction, it is only for the non-virtuous, and not for the unspecified. The saying "dharmas arising from the cause of the unspecified" is widely spread, and here, "they are also non-virtuous" is its source. The unspecified are the view of the aggregates and the view of clinging to extremes. Since these are also shown without distinction as the object of the cause of non-virtuous dharmas, it is certain that the non-virtuous dharmas of the noble ones also arise from the cause of the view of the aggregates and the view of clinging to extremes. In the saying "unspecified conditioned dharmas," saying "conditioned" is for the purpose of distinguishing space and cessation that is not analytical. The truth of suffering has the cause of the view of the aggregates, and there are also those that do not have the cause of the view of the aggregates. Here, saying "widely" means that the truth of suffering has the cause of the view of the aggregates, and there are also those that do not have the cause of the view of the aggregates. There is the cause of the view of the aggregates, and there are also those that are the cause of the view of the aggregates. Is there one that is neither the cause of the view of the aggregates nor the cause of the view of the aggregates? To this, the first case is: except for the past and present of the subtle predispositions to be abandoned by seeing, and the truth of suffering that corresponds to them; and except for the past and present of the pervasive subtle predispositions to be abandoned by the origin, and the truth of suffering that corresponds to them; and the future view of the aggregates, and those that correspond to them.
