Etc., such as virtuous deeds, etc. Briefly speaking, the so-called "time" is spoken of in a broad sense, arising simultaneously with the mind, having the same dwelling place, the same place of cessation, and belonging to the same time. Its substance is precisely belonging to the same time, the fourth being belonging to the same time. If it is said that having mentioned the same place of birth, etc., isn't belonging to the same time already included? Why then is it said again, "belonging to the same time"? It is in order to know the unborn dharma. If that is the case, then is it sufficient to rely solely on belonging to the same time? If that is the case, then only the same time will be understood. By mentioning the result, it includes the puruṣakāra (agent-made) result and the visamyoga (separation) result. If it is said that the two, the nisyanda (confluence) result and the vipāka (maturation) result, are not also the nature of the result, why are they mentioned separately? The puruṣakāra result is of four kinds: co-arising, subsequent arising, arising at a different time, and non-arising. Co-arising is for the two causes that are co-arising and possessing similarity, the result of these two causes is co-arising. Subsequent arising is for the supreme of worldly dharmas, namely, the kṣānti (forbearance) of the suffering-dharma-jñāna. Arising at a different time is like the vipāka result, namely, for the three bodhis, etc., that are in accordance with the liberation aspect. Non-arising is for all the visamyoga results of the anantarya-margas (paths of immediate result). Therefore, here, those that are not co-arising with the nisyanda cause and the vipāka cause are mentioned separately. The vipāka result and the nisyanda result are not co-arising with the cause, because they are arising at a different time and subsequent arising. If the vipāka result and the nisyanda result, which are not co-arising, are shown together, then only the co-arising of the puruṣakāra result will be grasped, because one's own nature is not the result of one's own nature, so they are mutually results. Therefore, by mentioning the result, it grasps the puruṣakāra result and the visamyoga result. Self.

If the fruit is not collected, it is because it is the fruit of all dharmas, and not just the fruit of those who follow the mind. The first sound called "one" should be regarded as having a common meaning, that is, birth, dwelling, and cessation are one, and that sound is the first sound. The latter sound called "one" should be understood as a common meaning. Therefore, in the "ten causes," there are four from time, three from fruit, and three from virtue and so on. Here, the same aspects should be enumerated as much as possible, but not all aspects are the same. Among them, there is no self-nature between good and other things. Similarly, for the uncontaminated dharmas included in the uninterrupted path, there is no ripening fruit, and there is no unwholesome and neutral. For other uncontaminated dharmas such as the path of liberation, there are no fruits separated from ripening, and there are no two unwholesome and neutral. For the contaminated wholesome dharmas included in the uninterrupted path, there are all the fruits, and there are no two unwholesome and neutral. For other contaminated wholesome dharmas and unwholesome dharmas, there are other fruits except for the separation fruit, because the separation fruit is only the fruit of the uninterrupted path. For the neutral dharmas, there are other fruits except for the ripening fruit and the separation fruit, as well as good and unwholesome. Therefore, some are six causes that follow the mind, some are seven causes, and some are eight causes. Among them, "those who are few in mind" refers to the un obscured and neutral of the second dhyana and so on, and the formless realm, which are widely spread, and are called few because of the few retinues. The so-called "characteristics of them" refers to the characteristics of the many lands in the ten lands. It does not refer to the common characteristics of them, because it is too far away. Because of the nearness, it refers to the self-characteristics, so it is said that "it is the eight kinds of self-characteristics and common characteristics." Own
