This is established by mutually following each other, with the meaning of the same function. Saying, "The root of virtue can cause other roots of virtue to arise, and it is not that there is a root of virtue that is universally uninterrupted like dust," this shows that here there is a cause of equal share. The faith with the root of seeing is the same as knowing after understanding, which is the cause of having the same. This is established with the meaning of the same object. Whatever arises as a view, all of that is rooted in the view of the perishable collection, which is the cause of pervasiveness. Here, the ripening of the karma arising from the cultivation of virtuous actions with outflows is actually experienced separately by the sentient beings born there, which is the cause of ripening, and is established as that which causes different fruits to be drawn. Thus, the Buddha closely revealed the causes, but many sects did not see them because of extreme hatred. The sutra says, "There are six causes," and the sutra that completely limits the number to six has been lost in the teachings that came out of one because the fundamental summary has been lost, and that was given by the god who was close to the son of the steadfast Katyayana. Therefore, it is only a separate explanation of the meaning of the sutra, and it is not contrary to the sutra. "The cause of producing action from outside oneself," for this, because it is impossible for oneself to act on oneself, it is said "from outside oneself." "All dharmas" refers to conditioned and unconditioned dharmas. Nirvana is contrary to entering, and the path is contrary to the arising of afflictions, so how can it be said that all dharmas are the cause of producing action? Because it abides in the nature of not hindering arising. There are two cases where the fruit does not arise: because there is no cause, and because there is an obstacle. Conversely, because there is a cause, and because there is no obstacle, there is arising, so from abiding in the nature of not hindering arising, it is established that it is the cause of producing action from outside oneself. When causes and conditions gather, there is no interruption for a moment, so for the arising dharma, it is said to be arising. Which ignorant afflictions

Regarding the arising, ignorance is the primary cause for the arising of afflictions. Therefore, those afflictions that arise from ignorance do not arise from wisdom, because wisdom has abandoned their cause, ignorance. Just as sunlight cannot suppress the water droplets on hair, and therefore cannot become an object of the eye. Since seeing does not arise from this, how can it be the cause of transforming oneself into another? It is said that, because it exists in a state of not obstructing what is not yet arising, it should not be called a 'doer.' What then? It should be said 'from what is arising' to be more fully expressed. The dharma that arises without interruption when causes and conditions gather is called 'arising.' That which is free from all that obstructs arising, for production, all dharmas exist in a state of non-obstruction. Therefore, just as in the future, so too in the present, because there is no obstruction to action, that state is called 'arising.' For the time being, those that can obstruct arising are, for example, wisdom obstructing the arising of afflictions, and sunlight obstructing the seeing of stars. An example is stated: for example, 'behavior is non-harming' is expressed more fully, like when villagers think of the village head as non-harming and say, 'We are made happy by the lord.' Why do they say that? Because he is capable of harming, but does not harm. Those who are not able to obstruct, and so on, will arise. For example, 'for the arising of all dharmas, nirvana' and so on, is expressed more fully. For nirvana and the nature of non-arising, if they do not have the ability to obstruct the arising of conditioned phenomena, how can they be the cause for the arising of all? Regarding 'hell and so on,' how can hell, hungry ghosts, and animals be the cause of the arising of formless aggregates? Mentioning hell and so on is because it is thought that humans and so on sometimes change through means such as closeness. Nirvana and so on, even if they do not exist, are like existence,
