Because it contradicts the principles. Furthermore, if the future birth is said to arise extensively, it is because everything possesses birth, and because it is acknowledged that future birth is the producer, hence the question. Regarding the phrase "without causes and conditions," it does not refer to producing birth without relying on causes and conditions, nor does the producer wish to produce it. Moreover, not all futures simultaneously possess the collection of causes and conditions, and without any one of them, the result will not arise. Therefore, not all futures arise simultaneously. Birth inevitably depends on the previously arisen cause that is of the same class and nature as itself, and on the collection of external conditions, just as the arising of a sprout depends on the seed and the field, etc. Then, regarding the phrase "collection" arising extensively, what should be produced is that if there is a collection of causes and conditions, it will arise, and if there is not, it will not arise. Therefore, it must be determined that it is solely the power of causes and conditions. It is not birth. Why? Because this is the occasion of "should not be regarded as power," even if it exists, the result will not arise. Regarding "even though subtle natures of phenomena exist," for example, like mental factors such as contact, etc. Regarding "the nature of phenomena," it refers to the essence of phenomena. Because it is difficult to completely determine, they are subtle. Although phenomena do not appear, if they are determined through their function, the function of birth itself is not certain. The function of contact is that the aggregate of feeling, the aggregate of perception, and the aggregate of mental formations, all of which depend on contact, as the Blessed One himself said. This is to show other functions, so he said "if there is no birth" etc. Why? Because, if it is like this, the knowledge that "this is form" for form relies on its own characteristics, then the knowledge that "it has arisen" should not rely on its own characteristics, because this also occurs for feeling etc. Therefore, for form etc., it is said "form has arisen," for feeling etc., it is said "feeling has arisen" etc., the birth that produces these knowledges with what kind of cause becomes another meaning.

Therefore, it should be understood that birth and so on exist. Regarding "it will not become the sixth word either," it means that the so-called "birth of form," this sixth word, has a related cause, and the relationship is different from each other, like "Devadatta's uncle." Since it is neither that itself nor non-that itself, just as "form of form" cannot be expressed by the sixth word, it will not become "birth of form" either. Therefore, it should be understood that what is expressed by the sixth word is a related cause. Similarly, until "impermanence itself," if there is no abiding and so on, then abiding, aging, decay, and the sixth word between "abiding of form" and "impermanence itself" will not be established either. Then, if in order to strongly prove the knowledge of "born," "abided," etc., one wants birth and so on to become other meanings, then, in order to achieve the sixth word such as "wisdom of selflessness" and "selflessness of form," one should also want selflessness. The wisdom of selflessness, like the wisdom of birth and so on, is not the cause of the essence of form, sensation, etc., because everything arises in the same way. Similarly, it should be said in the same way for what can be indicated and what has obstacles. What is completely conceived by non-Buddhists is what is completely conceived by the Vaiśeṣika school. Regarding "existence and so on," the word "and so on" includes reality, formness, potness, and so on. In order to achieve the knowledge of "one form, two forms, many forms," it is necessary to admit the number of one and so on. In order to achieve the knowledge of "form is small," "form is large," one should also admit small quantity and large quantity. Similarly, in order to strongly prove the knowledge of having difference, distinction, other, and non-other, one must also admit having difference, distinction, otherness, and non-otherness. In order to achieve the wisdom of existence and so on.
