Like the vajra-like samadhi, it liberates from the obscurations of afflictions, and at the time of knowing cessation, it is liberation. When generating the cessation attainment, it liberates from the obscurations of attainment, and at the time of generation, it is liberation. From what does the Bhagavan, at the time of knowing cessation, is called liberation from both aspects? When the cessation attainment is not generated, how can one be liberated from the obscurations of attainment? Answer: Because of being separated from its obscurations, and because its non-concomitance has completely disappeared, the Bhagavan, at the time of knowing cessation, has attained mastery as if it has already been generated, because it is free from the obstacles that can manifestly generate it, that is its meaning. Therefore, even if it is not generated, liberation from both aspects is accomplished. The Westerners say that this initial statement will be elaborated, how is it elaborated? Although the Bodhisattva is free from desire from the sphere of nothingness, but relies on the fourth dhyana, sees the truths, and rises from there and enters the peak of existence, and then enters the cessation attainment. After rising from the cessation attainment, he abides in the fourth dhyana, and by practicing, he abandons the afflictions of the peak of existence, and thus becomes a Buddha, this is the Dharma nature. In this way, it is possible to generate it in the stage of learning, they say. Therefore, the intermediate interval refers to the interval of thirty-four moments. The different mind refers to the peak of existence, or the mind that rises from the fourth dhyana, which is with outflows, because it is with outflows, so that is impossible, therefore it is not possible to enter the cessation attainment, because that is more subtle than the peak of existence, it is a subtle sequel, so it is impossible, that is its meaning. What will it become, refers to becoming contradictory to the treatises, or becoming contradictory to reason. The thought becomes a generator, this is elaborated, thought refers to idea. Because of what will the thought become a non-generator?

So, what is this? The Vaibhashikas say that in order to perfectly accumulate the accumulations of merit and wisdom, in order to possess great compassion, in order to subdue unfavorable aspects, in order to initiate diligence, and in order to strengthen vows, there is no other thought than the root of virtue. Those roots of virtue of the Bodhisattva, which are manifested, and which only by not rising from a single seat, attain enlightenment, are like this. They say this. Saying "only the former" means that it is said that the Buddha, the Bhagavan, attained it at the same time as attaining the exhaustion of defilements. Why? Because the thought of not breaking the lotus posture until the exhaustion of defilements is attained, determines that he will not rise from the undefiled path. The Acharya Good Virtue says, how is it that the Bodhisattva, from beginningless samsara, is deceived by the difference of worldly samadhi, and takes the lotus posture with the thought of exhausting defilements, and is moistened by the view of the peak of existence, and what was not previously uprooted from the root, is uprooted together with the root, and the remainder of the enemy of afflictions is abandoned, because of trust, so he abandons its antidote, and what is to be obtained by common effort, is to be respectful in order to obtain worldly samadhi, therefore, the Vaibhashikas say that "only the former" is reasonable. These two samadhis, in detail, the non-conceptual samadhi is the realm of the fourth dhyana. The samadhi of cessation is the realm of the peak of existence. Entering non-conceptual samadhi is for the sake of desiring liberation. Entering the samadhi of cessation is for the sake of abiding. Non-conceptual samadhi is only experienced after birth. The samadhi of cessation is experienced after birth, or experienced many times, or uncertain. Non-conceptual samadhi arises in the continuum of ordinary beings. The samadhi of cessation is

Entering into absorption arises in the continuum of the noble ones. The absorption of non-perception arises from practice. The absorption of cessation arises from practice and is attained through enlightenment. Both have desire and form as their basis. This shows that the commonality of these two is this. Some say that because cause and effect cannot be too close, there is the absorption of non-perception in the three dhyanas of the form realm, but not in the fourth. Others say that because birth is its result, there is also absorption in the fourth dhyana, except for non-perceptual beings. According to their view, the so-called Dharma Treasury Treatise shows that this contradicts the Dharma Treasury. Is it existence in the form realm, but is that existence also not one of the fivefold elaborations? There are four possibilities. Among them, existence in the form realm but not one of the fivefold elaborations refers to sentient beings who abide in the form realm. Because there are also non-perceptual gods there, the term "gods with perception" is mentioned. Because there are also those who abide in similar minds, therefore, the phrase "those who abide in dissimilar minds" is mentioned. Among them, dissimilar minds are the minds of serpents who act in the desire realm, as well as the minds that are without outflows and belong to the formless realm. Because only the aggregates that are self-produced are called existence, the aggregates produced by others are not considered existence in the form realm. These are existence in the form realm, but they are not the fivefold elaborations. Those who are in the absorption of cessation and the absorption of non-perception, and when non-perception manifests, it is also called existence in the form realm, but it is not the fivefold elaborations, because there is no mind or mental factors. Here, the term "gods with perception" and "absorption of non-perception" are contradictory. The so-called fivefold elaborations mean the five aggregates, as in the sutras of the Tathagata Kashyapa, the aggregates are named elaborations. It is one of the fivefold elaborations,
