Because of the differences in lineage and antidotes, there are many noble Dharmas, and because the noble Dharmas have not been attained, it is said without distinction, "Which of the noble Dharmas?" Therefore, it is said, "It is all of everything," which means those that are different due to differences such as learning and not learning. How is this understood? Therefore, it is said, "Because it appears without distinction," which should be connected to "in the treatise." If it is said that not attaining everything is only the state of an ordinary being. In that case, it would lead to being more superior than all those who have attained. In that case, it would lead to some people not attaining all the undefiled Dharmas, so there would be no noble ones. Therefore, it is said, "That is what has not been attained." The state of an ordinary being refers to not attaining everything, not to not attaining some. But the noble ones have not attained some, so it will not lead to not being a noble one. If this is the case, it will show two situations where the noble Dharmas have not been attained: not attaining what precedes, and attaining what precedes. Among them, the state of an ordinary being refers to not attaining what precedes, not to attaining what precedes. If it is not like that, if attaining what precedes becomes the state of an ordinary being. Because only one's own kind is attained, even the Buddha will become vast. Then, the sound of "only" must be uttered, that is, the noble Dharmas are only not attained, and if this is the case, it will show that what is attained at the time of attainment is not the state of an ordinary being, otherwise it is not. There is no need to utter it. Why? Because even if the determination of grasping there is not uttered, it can be understood. How can it be understood without speaking? Therefore, it is said, "Just one word." "Drinking water," "eating wind," here there is no sound of "only," so there is no second word, but here it is only drinking water, wind

It is understood that it is necessary to ascertain "only thus." If one both drinks water and eats food, then what is the meaning of the statement "drinks water"? Therefore, in order to include the necessity of ascertaining "drinks water," the word "only" is not uttered. Similarly, here, if it is merely the individuality of the acquisition and non-acquisition of the noble dharmas, then what is the meaning of the statement "individuality is the non-acquisition of the noble dharmas"? Therefore, it should be known that this is only inclusive of what must be ascertained. Therefore, in order to understand the meaning of the word "only," the word "only" is not uttered here because it is meaningless. Similarly, it should also be stated in relation to "eating wind." Others say that in order to completely avoid the fault of the doctrine, (it should be said) the forbearance of knowledge of dharma in suffering and those arising simultaneously with it. Individuality is the non-acquisition of the forbearance of knowledge of dharma, but not the non-acquisition of other noble dharmas. Therefore, even if the knowledge of dharma in suffering and so forth are not acquired, abiding in the first moment will not become an individuality. If so, then at the time of obtaining the fruit, because it is abandoned, will it become a non-noble one? Therefore, it is stated in detail, "because they are abandoned." The reason for this is explained as: because the non-acquisition of them is completely destroyed. Because the forbearance of knowledge of dharma in suffering is obtained, the non-acquisition of the forbearance of knowledge of dharma in suffering and those arising simultaneously with it, which is called individuality, is completely destroyed. The unobtained noble dharmas will not even occur in that continuum. In order to avoid the fault mentioned earlier from occurring again, it is stated in detail, "then, those also," which refers to the forbearance of knowledge of dharma in suffering and those arising simultaneously with it. The three lineages are the lineages of the hearers, the solitary buddhas, and the perfectly complete buddhas. Because each of the hearers and so forth has not acquired all.
