If it is determined that "it will not be expanded," then such a determination is unreasonable. Just as this is a concise term in relation to explaining realms, etc., it is also an expanded term in relation to explaining the Dharma. If it is determined that "only this is explained concisely, and there is no other concise explanation," then this is also unreasonable here. There are other concise explanations. For example, there are conditioned phenomena, unconditioned phenomena, form, formless, permanent, impermanent, and so on. Neither case is certain. If the nature of phenomena is not understood, then in order to distinguish and clarify its nature, if it is said that defiled and undefiled, then the sound of Dharma does not distinguish and show its nature, so here there is no fault in the sound of Dharma. Therefore, this is only a concise explanation, and not an expansion. In explaining conditioned and unconditioned phenomena, etc., the explanations of complete affliction and complete purification are also mixed up. Here, because it is desired to say that there is a concise explanation without mixing, only this is concise, and not others. If asked: Are there not also those that show without mixing, such as with strife and without strife? There are, but that is also a synonym for defiled and undefiled, so it is not desired to say it as something else. Therefore, it abides in the statement that "only this is explained concisely, and not others." If the phenomena are not understood in this way, then it is not only defiled, and therefore it is said, "Then, what are the defiled phenomena among them?" etc. The "that" refers to both defiled and undefiled. Conditioned phenomena other than the path are called defiled, and unconditioned phenomena are undefiled. Therefore, by saying conditioned phenomena, a distinction is made. Although the path is conditioned, it is the only undefiled, so it is said, "other than the path." What are those? They are the five aggregates of grasping, such as form. Truth is not mentioned.

Moreover, the commentary states, "Except for the truth of the path." Having said this, it immediately states, "The undefiled truth of the path." This is because it fully accepts what has been discarded. If someone asks, how is it possible that conditioned phenomena other than the truth of the path itself do not have afflictions? Why is there attachment? Just as there is property, afflictions must also exist, so it must be admitted without hesitation that there are afflictions. If afflictions exist because of what afflictions focus on, then the cessation and path truths also have afflictions because they focus on those. Therefore, they should also become afflicted. If afflictions exist because of reliance, then only the eye and so on are afflicted, while form and so on are not. Moreover, not all of the eye and so on are afflicted, because not all are the basis of afflictions. If afflictions exist because of association, then one aspect of mind and mental factors should also become afflicted, because not all minds and mental factors are associated with afflictions. If afflictions exist because they arise simultaneously with afflictions, then only the five aggregates of the afflicted mind are afflicted, while other minds are not. Because it is shown that having afflictions is because afflictions increase, otherwise it is not. Because it is said to them, "Afflictions increase in them." Therefore, connect "therefore they are afflicted." Early Sutra masters said that wherever afflictions arise, that is afflicted. To refute this, it is said, "Even by focusing on the cessation and path truths," and so on. The meaning of "འདོད་མོད་ཀྱི་" is "although admitted," because there is "Cessation and path, what is abandoned by seeing, view and doubt, and what is associated with them, only ignorance, the six are the objects of undefiled conduct." Therefore, it is admitted up to arising, but "they do not increase for the two" means they do not remain. The "for the two" refers to
