That is the meaning. Others say that "depending on oneself" is explained in detail. Even if one sees that it is not appropriate to engage in wrongdoing, not fearing wrongdoing is being shameless. Seeing that this is what others criticize, not fearing wrongdoing is being without embarrassment. Because it is a place of many non-virtues, it is shown that the two contradict each other in one mind. Even so, the "two dependencies" are mentioned in detail. The nature of others should not be depended on simultaneously, because they are different objects. It is not said that "depending on oneself and others is simultaneous," etc. There is no fault in understanding it with different names. Rebuttals, etc., will appear. Briefly, according to the first conceptualization, it is explained in detail that because this suppresses and restrains, it is reverence. The object of reverence is reverence itself, its object and the cherishedness with reason, because this is the desire for the object or the desire for the reason. Being with reverence is being with reverence, like being with wealth. Its object is being with reverence itself. If there is something, it is a dharma arising from the mind that cannot transcend the places and qualities of the lama, etc. Whatever dharma one possesses becomes possessing respect, and that is possessing respect itself. Having reverence means fearing places like the lama, etc. Not having reverence is not, having fear means controlling, not fearing is not. Therefore, whatever one possesses becomes possessing control with fear, and that is possessing control with fear itself. Regarding transgressions, etc., it is what is related to what becomes controlling with fear. According to the second conceptualization, it is explained in detail that depending on oneself and fearing transgressions is knowing shame, and depending on others is having embarrassment. Some think that joy and reverence are the same, so to show the difference between them, joy and faith are mentioned. The so-called joy and faith are spoken of considering that it is not afflicted joy, because of that.

I. There are two kinds of joy: afflicted and unafflicted. And so on. Unafflicted is faith, in that regard, there are two kinds of faith: the characteristic of manifest conviction and the characteristic of desire. Manifest conviction is the arising of desire for something, therefore, joy here is subsequent faith. There are cases where there is faith but not joy, in that regard, there are four possibilities: faith focused on suffering and its origin is only faith, but not joy, because it is focused on objects that are not manifestly desired. Joy arising towards sons and wives, etc., is not faith, because it is afflicted, and faith is the basis of many virtues. Both are, that is, both joy and faith, referring to faith focused on cessation and the path. What is called neither is neither faith nor joy. What is called excluding these types refers to these types, that is, those focused on suffering, origin, cessation, and the path, and those focused on sons, etc., excluding those that are not associated with other mental events, etc. For some people, there is joy but not respect. Sons and wives, what is called son, is because of purification and protection. A student related to receiving instructions, etc., is a co-dweller. One related to receiving knowledge, etc., is an attendant. There is respect but not joy, referring to respect for other teachers who possess qualities. Both are, such as joy and respect for one's own teachers. What is called excluding these types refers to those who are unrelated, without qualities, and other worldly people, for whom there is neither joy nor respect. Others say that what is called faith, etc., others say that thinking that there are qualities is faith, and through it joy arises, therefore, joy is the result of faith, but not faith. Respect is as previously stated, knowing shame and embarrassment. What is called disrespect and shamelessness is the opposite of this, and self.
