It is said that "to think of that as 'I' is inverted." Because the saying "to think of as 'mine'" does not occur. Although there are such teachings in the sutras, that does not change from the view of self to another meaning. How is it? From that, it is said that merely grasping the five aggregates as one's own, thinking that one can control them, becomes the 'view of what is mine.' Not only is it the 'view of self,' but also the 'view of what is mine,' that is its definition. 'The view of self' itself has two doors, namely the door of 'I' and 'mine,' but in essence, it is one. This is the definition of having two doors of clinging to 'I' and clinging to 'mine.' However, if the 'I' mentioned first and the 'mine' mentioned sixth are different views, then 'mine' and 'for my sake' would also change accordingly. Combining different views with the context, because 'mine' is mentioned third, and 'for my sake' is mentioned fourth. But this is not what is desired, therefore it is established that they are all the same. Why are other afflictions not inverted? This is because there are the view of the aggregates of destruction, the view of clinging to extremes, the view of holding views as supreme, as well as other annihilationist views, wrong views, the view of holding morality and asceticism as supreme, and desire, etc. 'Through three causes' means that inversions are distinguished by inversion, definitive discrimination, and superimposition. Those that fully possess these causes are distinguished as inversions. Those that do not fully possess them are said not to be inversions. 'Because of aiming at purification by just that much' means that because one thinks that one can be purified by just morality and asceticism, one makes a definitive discrimination. Thus, the view of holding morality and asceticism as supreme is not entirely inverted, because morality and asceticism are not incapable of being a cause of purification, but they are merely not sufficient. What is the nature of this superimposition? Superimposing on things that can be purified by just that much as the entity of the cause.
