Even what is abandoned by seeing will not change. To whomsoever has a wrong view that aims at a wrong path, or a view that doubts there is no path to liberation, or has doubts, how can they believe in purification through that? It is only reasonable to be manifestly attached to purification from a wrong view that denigrates the noble path, because one holds reason for that. Therefore, by what means does one develop a rational mind towards a wrong view that denigrates the correct path, but rather cherishes another path to liberation in their heart, saying that there is no other path to liberation, and doubting whether there is another path to liberation, thinking that this is reasonable. It is reasonable to take the means of purification through the gate of reason. Therefore, whoever cherishes in their heart aiming at another path to liberation, this itself is the object of what is to be abandoned by seeing the path, holding morality and asceticism as supreme, because it aims only at its own kind. However, if it is always permissible to be similar to that, then it would also be excessive to be abandoned by seeing cessation, because by what means does one hold reason for a wrong view that denigrates true liberation, but rather cherishes another place of liberation in their heart. Therefore, if one says that these two are similar, then it is not so, because if one is attached to permanence and peace as being the same, then it is not reasonable to be manifestly attached to denigrating that. If there is a different conception of substance and non-substance, then some will seek a method of liberation, and there is certainty that they will undoubtedly have liberation. Whoever has the certainty that they will undoubtedly have liberation also holds onto permanence and peace. If it is not like that, then it is not reasonable to seek that. For example, for these religious sects, although Nirvana is a different conception of substance and non-substance, they are attached to permanence and peace as being the same, therefore the view of denigrating that is only a fault. Just as whoever cherishes a little place of liberation in their heart, now also holds onto permanence and peace as being the same, therefore it is not reasonable to hold reason for denigrating liberation. Morality and asceticism, etc., compared to the noble path, whether in terms of nature or form,

It is different from "I", but there is no difference in clinging to permanence and tranquility, so it is equally impossible forever. Therefore, holding precepts and asceticism as supreme can only be abandoned by seeing the path, but not by seeing cessation, they say. Here, if the Abhidharma masters think that there are two kinds of holding precepts and asceticism as supreme, then, what kind of holding precepts and asceticism as supreme is considered to be abandoned by seeing suffering? What kind is considered to be abandoned by seeing the path? If someone believes that sins can be purified by cow precepts, etc., those people also regard the non-path as the path, then, what kind of holding precepts and asceticism as supreme, taking precepts and asceticism, etc., as the object of suffering, is abandoned by seeing suffering, and what kind of taking the wrong path as the object is abandoned by seeing the path. Taking precepts and asceticism, etc., as the object is not entering the wrong path, nor is it as harmful as taking the wrong path as the object, because taking precepts and asceticism, etc., as the object is rough, not long-lasting, not a firm idea, and can be destroyed when the effort is small, while taking the wrong path as the object is the opposite. The four perversions in the three views, called, is to show that perversion is the nature of the three views. From the view of the aggregate of destruction, the view of self is perverted, which is thought to be not the view of what belongs to self. Others say that everything is, which is to say that the view of the aggregate of destruction, the view of self, and the view of what belongs to self are all synonyms for the perversion of self. The Vaibhashikas asked, how is the view of what belongs to self perverted? The answer is, the view of what belongs to self cannot be called perverted. The other party asked, how is it not perverted? The Vaibhashikas replied, because it does not appear in the sutra of perversion. The sutra says no self.
