It is said that the eight subtle faults, such as wrong views to be abandoned by seeing the path, are the objects of holding precepts and asceticism as supreme. Since they are also with outflows, they are included in the truth of suffering. It is also a reversed distinction of it, so it is thought that it will only become what is to be abandoned by seeing suffering. Furthermore, what is said extensively is that for any person who thinks, "Is there no path?" or has a wrong view of the path as an object, or a person who has doubts, such as the view that there is no path to liberation for that person, or when in doubt, such as doubting whether this path exists or not, how can that wrong view, this wrong view, or this doubt purify? Belief and distinction arise, but only with wrong views and doubts, there is no belief in purification. However, the other path to liberation, which is extensively explained, is that the other path to liberation contemplated by Samkhya and others is held as supreme and taken, saying, "This is the path to liberation, but not the Buddhist path." If it is said like that, then it is only through what is contemplated by Samkhya that one believes in purification, but not through wrong views. Therefore, that holding of precepts and asceticism as supreme does not establish the object to be abandoned by seeing the path. If so, what is it? It is only making the path contemplated by Samkhya and others as the object. There is also this other fault. Furthermore, what is said extensively is that any wrong view that is the object to be abandoned by seeing the origin and cessation, with the wrong view believing in purification, why are those not to be abandoned by seeing? Why is holding precepts and asceticism as supreme not to be abandoned by seeing the origin and cessation? This is a summary. Therefore, this meaning is to be examined, which means that because of what, such holding of precepts and asceticism, it is also impossible to be abandoned by seeing suffering, and it is also too much to become what is to be abandoned by seeing the path, so there is a fault. Therefore, holding precepts and asceticism as supreme, to be abandoned by seeing suffering.

should be done, and what should be abandoned by seeing the path, this reason should be examined. The teacher has made this doubt, but has not clarified his own doctrine. Others say that it was done in reference to the doctrine of the Yogacara school. The Yogacara school also says that there are one hundred and twenty-eight afflictions, such as the subtle parts that are abandoned by seeing the truth of suffering, namely the ten kinds of views of the body, views of extremes, wrong views, views of holding views as supreme, views of holding morality and asceticism as supreme, doubt, greed, anger, pride, and ignorance, similarly, there are ten kinds of things to be abandoned by seeing the origin, ten kinds of things to be abandoned by seeing the cessation, and ten kinds of things to be abandoned by seeing the path, in the desire realm, there are forty kinds of things to be abandoned by seeing. What is to be abandoned by meditation is the view of the body that is not produced by discrimination, the innate view of annihilation, greed, anger, pride, and ignorance, these six, in the desire realm, the subtle parts of practice are forty-six kinds. In the form realm, there are forty-one kinds of practices, except for anger, they are the same. How the practices are in the form realm, the practices in the formless realm are also the same. To this, some people answer that because all that is based on contaminated things wrongly tends to suffering, it will be too extreme, to this statement it should be said that because it wrongly enters through suffering and so on, it will not be too extreme. Although what is based on contaminated things wrongly tends to suffering, however, some wrongly enter through the way of suffering, and some wrongly enter through the way of origin. Some wrongly enter through the way of cessation, and some wrongly enter through the way of the path. Among them, those who enter suffering through the way of suffering are those who are abandoned by seeing the truth of suffering. Holding morality and asceticism as supreme
