Furthermore, by clinging to permanence and self, one wrongly enters the door of suffering through suffering. Therefore, suffering should be abandoned by seeing it. Those who wrongly enter the path, such as the Samkhyas and the naked ascetics, hold onto their own fabricated paths and generate the wrong view that the Shramanas (referring to Buddhists) and others have no path to liberation. Regarding that wrong view, they regard holding precepts and asceticism as supreme and make it the most excellent. This holding of precepts and asceticism as supreme is a wrong entry into the path, and therefore the path should be abandoned by seeing it. Whoever holds precepts and asceticism as supreme will not wrongly enter through the door of origination, nor will they wrongly enter into wrong entry through the door of cessation. Therefore, holding precepts and asceticism as supreme is only suffering and the path that should be abandoned by seeing it. Furthermore, how does one not wrongly enter through the door of origination and cessation? Here, the teacher Meghasamghata says: Holding precepts and asceticism as supreme is not something to be abandoned by seeing origination and cessation, because it is not reasonable in that body. The body of holding precepts and asceticism as supreme is manifestly attached to what is not a cause as a cause, and manifestly attached to what is not a path as a path. By manifestly clinging to the wrong view that slanders origination, one will come to see that this arises from no cause, because there is no thought of a cause. Since suffering and origination are not subsequently different, one will also abandon the aggregates of Ishvara and others. By believing in the wrong view that slanders cessation, it is simply impossible to contemplate the means of cessation. How so? After the view that there is no cessation, contemplating the means to it becomes meaningless. Thus, it is unreasonable to hold precepts and asceticism as supreme in the body. Thus, after the view that there is no path, it is unreasonable to completely contemplate the path, therefore, holding precepts and asceticism as the supreme path.
