It is because of the form. Those doubts themselves have twelve forms. There is no difference in form, because all are forms of doubt. The subtle aspects of view are thirty-six in form, by the distinction of form, difference, and realm. The forbearance arising from the peak of existence, in saying "to be abandoned," saying "to be abandoned by forbearance" is to avert what is to be abandoned by meditation. Saying "arising from the peak of existence" is to distinguish that which is to be abandoned by seeing, due to the afflictions of the peak of existence, from other grounds, since there is no worldly path of meditation that is an antidote to the peak of existence. "In the remaining grounds" means in the grounds from the desire realm up to the sphere of nothingness. "Appropriately" means that in the desire realm, it is to be abandoned by the forbearance of knowing the Dharma, and above that, in the remaining grounds, it is to be abandoned by the forbearance of subsequent knowledge. Those are to be abandoned by seeing for the noble ones, and those themselves are to be abandoned by meditation for ordinary beings. The path of meditation is of two kinds: worldly and transcendental. Thus, it is said in the treatise: "The hearers of the Blessed One abandon by the path of seeing, and ordinary beings abandon by the path of meditation." In saying "not abandoned by forbearance, but only by meditation," saying "not abandoned by forbearance" is to include what is to be abandoned by meditation, that in all the grounds from the desire realm to the peak of existence, appropriately, whatever subtle aspects of desire, anger, pride, and ignorance are not to be abandoned by forbearance, but are to be abandoned by knowledge, those are always to be abandoned by meditation, either worldly or transcendental, for both noble ones and ordinary beings. The peak of existence is only by the transcendental, because there is no worldly path to a higher ground. The things to be abandoned by seeing by the outsiders are not abandoned, because their things to be abandoned by meditation are completely present.

can be eliminated. The things to be abandoned by seeing can only be destroyed by the transcendental path in all the grounds. As it is said in the Sutra of Great Differentiation of Karma, those who are free from desire will have all the views that are directed towards the desire realm. Ananda, here, some people abstain from killing to abstaining from wrong view, and they do not like this, and they do not like it individually. After the body is destroyed and dies, they will be born in the hells of evil destinies, evil paths, and wrong views. If those non-Buddhist ascetics or Brahmins, who have miraculous powers, divine eyes, and know the minds of others, see this, they will think, "This person has not practiced well with his body, and there is no fruition of practicing well with his body. He has not practiced well with his speech and mind, and there is no fruition of practicing well with his speech and mind." Such thoughts will appear in detail. Wrong view is directed towards the desire realm, because karma is practiced in desire, and hell also exists only in that realm. Regarding "those who speculate on the past and speak of permanence," it is said in the Brahma Net Sutra that those who are free from desire will have all the views that are directed towards the desire realm. Those who follow the sight of previous lives and give rise to such views are those who speculate on the past. Among the many who speak of permanence, I will give one example to illustrate. Here, some ascetics or Brahmins, whether they live in a secluded place, under a tree, or in an empty house, through the cause of complete training, the cause of abandonment, the cause of meditation, the cause of repeated practice, and the cause of proper attention, in some way cause the mind to enter into samadhi, so that they can truly remember twenty kalpas of formation, abiding, destruction, and emptiness, and attain that peaceful samadhi of the mind. They will think, "I and this world are permanent." That is what is said. Thus, the past...
