The body is the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha. Regarding this, from the manifestation of mindfulness focused on the Buddha, fifty types of minds arise. May I also become like this, another fifty actions arise. Thus, it is said to be a hundred merits. Others say that the desire realm has twenty abodes, the form realm has sixteen, the formless realm has four, and the cold hells have eight. Thus, the three realms are forty-eight distinctions. Regarding this, a Bodhisattva generates a mind of compassion. Therefore, forty-eight minds that are in accordance with it arise. Afterwards, how will this one liberate beings from these three realms? Such a mind arises, a mind focused on the Buddha. Afterwards, may I also liberate like that, a second mind focused on myself arises, and fifty minds arise. Again, when those manifest twice, it is said to become a hundred minds. Others say that the Buddha, the Bhagavan, possesses the abandonment of killing based on five causes. The five causes are the actual path of action being completely pure, the accumulation being completely pure, not speaking with discrimination, being completely grasped by mindfulness, and dedicating it to Nirvana. Regarding this, five minds also arise. Focusing on all ten paths of action is the same, ten sets of five minds are fifty minds. Also, just as the Bhagavan certainly arises from the ten unmixed paths of virtuous action, may I also be like that. When those manifest twice, it is said to become a hundred minds. Thus, each one also arises from a hundred merits, this is established. "Served" means the meaning of having served. What is Bhagavan? To explain in detail, it is the potter's light, the first aspiration. At that time, the discipline and patience of this perfection, etc., are complete, it is a temporary undisturbed mind.

Therefore, the perfection of patience is complete. Because one does not engage in evil deeds with body and speech, the perfection of discipline is complete. The saying "There is no heaven on earth" is an extensive explanation, and the saying "heaven on earth" is a doctrinal statement. It is not in this world, nor in the abode of Vaishravana, nor in the excellent abode of the heavenly palace. These are doctrinal words spoken to clarify it. The saying "this world" refers to the human world. The saying "the abode of Vaishravana" refers to the abode of the Four Great Kings. The saying "heavenly palace" refers to the heavenly realm, which is synonymous with the abode of the Thirty-three. The saying "excellent abodes" refers to places like the place of non-conflict. In other world realms as well, in order to make you know that there is no one like you, it is said, "There is none in any direction or corner." If you still do not believe, think, "Someone should search for oneself everywhere in the mountains and forests, on this vast earth covered with mountains and forests, where many sentient beings reside." The saying "also gathered nine kalpas" means that because of initiating diligence, the perfection of diligence was completed in ninety-one kalpas. Therefore, it is said that in the remaining ninety-one kalpas, it was abandoned. The saying "immediately before enlightenment" refers to immediately before the enlightenment that realizes the nature of cessation and non-arising. Why? Because one attains enlightenment by perfecting the perfections, but not by not perfecting the perfections. The saying "as appropriate" means that some are both merit, action, and basis, while some are only merit. How so? For example, it is said, "for example," and so on. The seven paths of action, such as killing, are both action and path because they are the nature of action and also the path of intention. The three, such as covetousness, are only the path of action of intention, so they are the path of action. Deeds of body and speech

English
That which is called "being all three aspects" means that, for the time being, it is also merit because it ripens into a pleasing result, and it is also action because it is the very nature of karma. The mind that arouses these is also the basis because it arises in dependence on them. The mind that arouses these is what arouses the actions of body and speech, and it is also merit because it ripens into a pleasing result, and it is also action because it is the action of mind. But it is not the basis, because it is not the support of action. Feelings and so on that arise together with it are only merit because they ripen into a pleasing result, but they are not action or basis, because they do not have their characteristics. That which is called "arising from discipline" should be combined in the same way as the previous three aspects. That which is called "loving-kindness is also merit" should also be combined in the same way as before. It is also the basis of action, because through the means of loving-kindness, by the power of loving-kindness, it exists in accordance with it, that is, the mind that is in accordance with loving-kindness manifests and thinks. That which arises together with it, that is, the mind and discipline that arise together with loving-kindness, are both merit and action, as before. The mind does not arise in dependence on thinking "I should enter into the vows of meditative concentration," therefore it is not the basis of action. Other feelings and so on that arise together with it are only merit, as before. Thus, that which arises from generosity is both merit, action, and basis; it is both merit and action; because it is merit, it is the basis of merit and action. Discipline and so on are both merit, action, and basis, so they are the basis of merit and action. That which arises from meditation is both merit and the basis of action; it is both merit and action; because it is merit, it is the basis of merit and action. It is also desired to unify things that are inconsistent, for example, those things that are not obvious are called qualities, like that. That which is called "that which should be given is also generosity" refers to that which should be given.
