This is the method of abandoning the vows of a novice monk. The so-called "loss of support" means that one abandons the precepts that one has taken and dies. In this way, the precepts are abandoned through the second cause. The so-called "degeneration of support" means that the precepts on which one relies degenerate and are no longer as before. In this way, the precepts are abandoned through the third cause. The so-called "severance of the foundation" means that the foundation is the root of virtue, and because these are severed, the precepts are abandoned through the fourth cause. The so-called "until that time" means that the precepts of the lay devotee are limited to one day and one night, so the precepts of the lay devotee are abandoned through the four causes mentioned earlier and the fifth cause. The so-called "lapse into sin" refers to the five causes mentioned above and the lapse into sin. Because these cause one to fall into sin, they are called sins. There are four situations: not practicing celibacy, not accepting the given property truthfully, killing people, and falsely claiming to have superhuman abilities. The Kashmiris believe that (ordination) is two things like borrowing and property. This is explained through scriptural and logical proofs. Among them, the scriptural proof comes from the Vinaya: "If a monk behaves improperly and teaches a nun, he will become a remnant of the Sangha." Here, it is believed that a monk who behaves improperly is a monk who has committed a fundamental transgression. If he has not committed a fundamental transgression, then it is not, because it will be said conversely that "he has naturally existing precepts." Therefore, for a monk who behaves improperly, it is also evident that there is the status of a monk, because it is said that "he will become a remnant of the Sangha." The logical proof is that it is unreasonable to completely abandon the precepts simply because of the loss of one aspect. The so-called "also for the fundamental transgression" means that it is said in this way for the fall of committing a transgression. Even if other transgressions occur, there is no situation of improper behavior, such as the remnants of the Sangha, etc. The so-called "repentance" means after doing repentance. Then, what the Blessed One said, "in detail, it will become a fundamental transgression," etc., the content that appears in between is the question raised from the heart, "What is that like?"

Saying "it is said from the point of view of the true bhikshu" means that the occurrence of the fall is because there is no fortune to see the truth, because one has not become a true bhikshu. "For many afflictions" refers to Gawa and so on. The meaning of the words is that even the root fall will not lose the identity of the bhikshu, and realizing this, they will do it again. The so-called "nominal bhikshu" refers to those who have not received full ordination but are called bhikshus. The so-called "self-proclaimed bhikshu" refers to those who are immoral and engage in non-brahmacharya and so on. Because of begging, it is called bhikshu, which refers to those who beg. Because of destroying the afflictions, it is called bhikshu, which refers to Arhats. "For this meaning" refers to the meaning of "non-bhikshu, non-shramana" explained in detail by the Blessed One, that is, the bhikshu mentioned above, the fifth other than the root, who is fully ordained by petition and four karmas is the only true bhikshu. Explaining those who say "that is also said from the point of view of the true bhikshu." For those who previously became true bhikshus, but later appear as "non-bhikshu, non-shramana," what causes them to become non-bhikshus later? This is not so. To illustrate with an example, it is like the teacher answering by using the example of cutting off the head of a palm tree. Connect to the sentence "answered the question," which is the summary of answering the question. Connect to "enjoying a mouthful of food, and the range of taking a step in the temple." The teacher excludes all the enjoyment of the bhikshu, which means that the Blessed One excludes enjoying together with the bhikshus, eating at the same table, and so on. "Eliminate craving," craving is like wheat, just as the special characteristic of a certain grass makes wheat bad, so it is for a non-bhikshu to have the appearance of a shramana. "Rotten tree" refers to a rotten tree, and a rotten bhikshu is also like that. That is the Blessed One
