In order to turn away from the samādhi of non-learning emptiness, etc., one enters into other samādhis. What is called 'extensive arising' is what is said in the sutra: if one cultivates samādhi, universally approaches, habituates, and repeatedly practices, one will also abide in comfort in the present dharma, etc., until one cultivates samādhi, universally approaches, habituates, and repeatedly practices, one will also exhaust the outflows. Among these, universally approaching is the aggregation of approaching. Habituating is abandoning what is incompatible. Repeatedly practicing is prolonging what is incompatible. Since this is the first, one should know that others are also like this, which is the nature of an example. What is called 'abiding in comfort in the next life' is not certain. The next life is the future birth. Abiding in comfort there is not necessarily needed for that. Why? Because those who have fallen from the first dhyana, and those who are born in the second dhyana, etc., and those who are completely liberated from suffering, do not have abiding in comfort in the next life. What is called 'knowing and seeing' is a compound word of knowing and seeing. Among these, knowing is the wisdom that corresponds to consciousness, such as the discriminating thoughts that these sentient beings possess evil deeds of the body, etc. Seeing is the non-discriminating wisdom that corresponds to eye consciousness. Someone says that divine eye clairvoyance is knowing and seeing. If someone says that divine eye clairvoyance is not cultivating samādhi, then what is said here is establishing the cause as the result, that is, taking the cultivation of samādhi as the cause, the result of which is divine eye clairvoyance. Therefore, taking that result as the samādhi cultivation of knowing and seeing, this is establishing the cause as the proximate cause. In which aspects, the path of liberation or the six kinds of wisdom. If according to these views, then the six superknowledges are only included by the path of liberation of consciousness and dhyana.

Therefore, this should not be blamed, because those paths of liberation are equally established. According to the thought of the Abhidharma-kośa, it should be understood as understanding the above direction, because they consider the consciousness of the divine eye and ear to be supernormal powers. The so-called three realms and the unpolluted, the three realms refer to the contemplation of impurity, breathing, mindfulness of elements, freedom from afflictions, knowledge according to wishes, individual correct knowledge, supernormal powers, liberation, and the spheres of overcoming, etc. The unpolluted refers to the gate of liberation, the samadhi of transcendence, and the supernormal powers of the exhaustion of defilements, etc. Here, because it corresponds to samadhi, the merits arising from practice are approximately called the practice of samadhi. The so-called complete distinction of wisdom means that the excellence of wisdom becomes outstanding. The Blessed One's teaching of this Dharma is close to oneself, and the so-called closeness to oneself is closeness to oneself. This is a synonym for saying that one speaks as one's own master. The Bodhisattva went out to observe the limits of karma, and generated the first dhyana under the Jambudvipa tree. Under the Bodhi tree, in the first period, he subdued the son of the gods and generated the divine eye. With the divine eye, he observed the painful states of beings' death and birth, and in order to completely protect them, he manifested dhyana, liberation, and samadhi in the midday period. These merits arising from practice will make wisdom very sharp. After that, in the third period, relying on the fourth dhyana, from the definite entry onwards, he abandoned all habitual freedom with the Vajra-like Samadhi. Because that way of speaking is close to oneself, it is said what is the Vajra-like Samadhi of only the fourth dhyana. Because it is focused on limitless beings.

English
The term "Roga" refers to the cause for cultivating the perception of the immeasurable. The term "As many as" refers to loving-kindness for those with much anger, in order to abandon it. For those with much malice, it is compassion in order to abandon it. For those with much displeasure, it is joy in order to abandon it. For those with much desire and anger, it is equanimity in order to abandon them. What is the difference in being the antidote to desire? It is thinking for the sake of those with much desire. The antidote to desire for father, mother, son, and relatives is thinking that one should practice equanimity towards them in the same way as towards those who are unrelated. "Because it is led by attachment" means that because anger is led by attachment, it shows the nature of the antidote to attachment. "This can be the nature of both" means it can be the nature of non-attachment and the nature of non-hatred, which is a concluding statement. Why? Because it is the antidote to desire and hatred. Here, it is not accepted that one dharma has the nature of both. What then? The term equanimity is applied to non-attachment and non-hatred. "Alas! May all beings be happy" means thinking, "May it be so!" "Alas! Beings are suffering" means thinking, "May they be liberated from suffering," which will be explained as such. "Because it abides in the middle" is a concluding statement meaning that because it does not fall to either side, there is neither attachment nor aversion following it. To those who do not possess it, it is explained extensively that to those who do not possess happiness, how can it not become inverted since they believe they possess happiness? "Because of thinking 'May it be so'" means that because of thinking 'May they be happy,' it is not inverted, which is to be connected with the context. Or, because the thought is not inverted. Thought is a virtuous dharma, beings.
