Having done, my defilements are exhausted. The pure conduct has been practiced. What needed to be done has been done. I do not know another existence beyond this, thus it was said. The venerable Thus-Gone One, as previously stated. This is the tenth power of the Thus-Gone One, and that power arises as before. The ten powers of knowing what is possible and impossible. What is possible and what is impossible are the possible and the impossible, and knowing them is itself a power. That is the ten knowledges, the meaning of being the very nature of the ten knowledges. How so? The possible and the impossible, in short, are the conditioned and the unconditioned. Among them, the activities in the desire realm, form realm, and formless realm, and the undefiled, are divided into eight types by the difference of being equally possessed and not possessed. Similarly, the unconditioned is also divided into two types by the difference of virtue and the unspecified. Among them, the object of conventional knowledge is all ten dharmas, which means that it enters into all ten dharmas. The knowledge of dharma is five, namely, the activity in the desire realm, the undefiled, the base, and the virtuous unconditioned. Subsequent knowledge is seven, namely, the activity in the form realm and formless realm, the six undefiled, and the virtuous unconditioned. The knowledge of suffering and origin is six, namely, the activities in the desire realm, form realm, and formless realm. The knowledge of cessation is one, namely, only the virtuous unconditioned. The knowledge of the path is two, namely, the undefiled. The knowledge of the minds of others is three, namely, the activity in the desire realm and form realm, and the equally possessed undefiled. The object of the knowledge of exhaustion and non-arising is nine dharmas, except for the unspecified unconditioned. Thus, the power of knowing what is possible and impossible is the ten knowledges. Again, how are the ten dharmas called possible and impossible? Existence is possible, non-existence is impossible. Or, it is impossible for a woman to become a Buddha, there is no opportunity, this is impossible. It is possible for a man to become a Buddha, this is possible. It is impossible for a woman to become Brahma, there is no opportunity, this is impossible.

O! Whatever causes results, that is the place. Similarly, the cessation of suffering, that is the place. Such entry into states, etc., should be understood as the power of knowing what is and is not the place. The so-called eight kinds of karmic results are the contaminated karma and its maturation, because they are included in the truths of suffering and origin, so they are not knowable by the truths of cessation and path. Therefore, for those things that are different from them, there are eight kinds of consciousness. Dhyana, etc. The so-called faculties and aspirations, broadly speaking, because these have dhyana, etc., so they are dhyana, etc., namely dhyana and liberation, samadhi and samapatti. There are four dhyanas. There are eight liberations. There are three samadhis, such as emptiness. There are two samapattis, such as the samapatti of non-perception and the samapatti of cessation, and nine gradual abiding samapattis. The faculties are the faculties. Aspiration is that which arises from the mind. Dhyana, etc., the faculties and aspirations, this is a classification, for them, there are nine kinds of consciousness besides the consciousness of cessation. How to understand it? Dhyana, etc., have the distinction of being contaminated and uncontaminated, as well as corresponding and non-corresponding, so for them, there are nine kinds of consciousness. Because they are conditioned phenomena, they are not the consciousness of cessation. For the faculties such as faith, also because the faculties have the distinction of small, medium, and large, knowing what is the main and non-main, that is the power of knowing what is superior and non-superior. Because of the distinction between contaminated and uncontaminated, for those different things, there are also nine kinds of consciousness besides the consciousness of cessation. Those various aspirations, because they are contaminated, uncontaminated, and of the three realms, so because they are conditioned by them, similarly there are nine kinds of consciousness besides the consciousness of cessation. The power of knowing various realms is also the same as this. Regarding the realm, the learned friend says: It refers to the thought that is perfectly accomplished by the habits of previous familiarity.
