Because it is not made into two aspects, it is both. That is, it possesses non-intellectuality of manifestation of past and future. If asked, what kind of nature does it have? Because it is the occasion of meditation, it manifests as having the nature of the discipline of meditation. Therefore, even the first moment is said to be reborn in other lives, which is fully shown by example, so it also includes rebirth in this life. The noble one is not past and future at first. This means that the noble one always possesses non-intellectuality of manifestation of past and future. If asked, what kind of nature does it have? Because it is the occasion of the noble one, it manifests as being without outflows. For the same reason, it is said that the noble person also possesses the same outflowlessness. This is a distinction, which is to show the meaning of the word "this." This is also another display, that is, the first moment, in the first moment of the forbearance of the knowledge of the Dharma of suffering, it does not possess non-intellectuality of manifestation of the past. Why? Because in the beginningless cycle of existence, the previous path has not arisen. If someone asks, when attaining the fruit or at the time of transformation, if the previous path is abandoned, is it not also considered to be without the non-intellectuality of manifestation of the past? If that is the case, then that path of fruition is also the first moment, because the previous path of fruition has not arisen, so it should be said that it does not possess the non-intellectuality of manifestation of the past. The teacher Vasubandhu explains in order to answer this objection, saying that here is the occasion of the discipline without outflows, and it is also obtained at the time of realizing the knowledge of the Dharma of suffering, therefore, the first moment does not possess that past. For the second and so on, it possesses the past and the future. For the above or the attainment of other paths, because there is the same discipline without outflows, it is not mentioned. Do not think that there is a similarity here, is this said in relation to the existence of the discipline with outflows? Or is it in relation to the existence of the discipline without outflows? If it is said to be in relation to the existence of the discipline with outflows, then
