Since the word "abandoning" does not serve the purpose of abandoning, it will not become without desire. It is said that in the first and fourth cases, if afflictions are not abandoned, then who does not abandon afflictions is shown? To this, it is said in detail, "a person without desire," where "to this" is for approaching the meaning. From the desire realm to the realm of nothingness, if a person without desire observes and realizes the truths, then the Dharma-knowing and forbearance in the Dharma-knowing position, and those in the Dharma-forbearance position, will not abandon afflictions, because the worldly meditative path has already been abandoned in advance, so the attainment of separation is merely the arising of the unpolluted. The subsequent knowledge and forbearance positions will definitely abandon afflictions, because the worldly path cannot be separated from desire from the peak of existence. The knowledge position combines the meditative path with liberation and the superior path, and some uninterrupted paths also do not abandon afflictions in situations such as the transformation of faculties. Which ones are omitted? Those uninterrupted paths that are different from these, they will abandon afflictions, and thus it is established. In the commentary on the Abhidharma-kosa, the 'Meaning Clarification' composed by the teacher, the son of the king, Named Glorious Friend, the teaching on persons and paths, which is the sixth chapter of the Kosa. The fifty-third volume. After the sixth chapter of the Kosa, in order to show the close relationship of the seventh chapter, it is said in detail, "Forbearance also appears," starting from the supreme worldly Dharma, "the forbearance of Dharma is unpolluted," thus eight kinds of forbearance are spoken. "Desire and suffering arise from this, the Dharma-knowledge is also the same there," there the knowledge position is spoken. "If not, exhaustive knowledge or no-learning view," there the correct view is spoken. "There liberation and enlightenment, as it is said, the knowledge position," there the correct knowledge is spoken. Or starting from the end of the sixth chapter, "Suffering, cause, forbearance, knowledge, etc., aversion by what will be abandoned," all.

of attachment will be removed. As it is said, all this has been explained. Or, because it is related to the treatises, it is briefly described here. In the treatises, it is also said "the patiences," it is also said "the knowledges," it is also said "right view," and it is also said "right knowledge." This is only a brief summary there, therefore, are the patiences, but not knowledge? This is asked in detail. Immaculate patiences are not knowledge. Saying that immaculate patiences are not knowledge is to make sure, therefore, it will be said that the defiled patiences are knowledge. That is considered conventional knowledge. By what is to be abandoned, it means that the subtle doubts to be abandoned by patience have not yet been abandoned. Because the time has come, in those states, subtle doubts will be abandoned, but not already abandoned. Knowledge is considered certain, not uncertain, so patiences are not knowledge, because patiences are born as the nature of patience, not the nature of certainty, so it is said not knowledge. If only saying that subtle doubts have not been abandoned, why specifically say "by what is to be abandoned"? Because in the second moment, the subtle doubts to be abandoned by the first patience will be abandoned, so it will be understood that only the first patience is not knowledge, but not the other patiences, therefore it is specifically said "by what is to be abandoned." Because it is the nature of truly contemplating, it means it is a synonym for the nature of closely contemplating. Because there is no true contemplation and no intention of seeking, it means that there is no true contemplation here, so it is without true contemplation. Seeking and desiring is without the intention of seeking. There is no intention of seeking here, so it is not with the intention of seeking. It is both without true contemplation and not with the intention of seeking, so it is without true contemplation and not with the intention of seeking. Therefore, the knowledge of exhaustion and the knowledge of non-arising.
