Thinking of guarding it well, one will not completely degenerate from it. Like a butter pot, for example, a pot filled with butter is called a butter pot because the word "filled" in between is not obvious. Or, for example, a pot that relies on butter is a butter pot, that is, a place to pour butter. Because the word "reliance" is not obvious, it is called a butter pot. Similarly, here too, it is because the word "reliance" in between is not obvious. These are both dependent on time and liberated, so it is said to be liberated by time. Time is said to be equipment, etc., which has already been said. Why can't it be shaken? Because it is said "from the aspect of not completely degenerating." Or, for the sake of other times and permanent liberation, it is precisely because of liberation in other times that it is liberated by time, and because of permanent liberation, it is liberated without being connected to time, which is a summary word. If so, why is that? It is said in response, from the aspect of complete degeneration being possible and impossible. From the aspect of complete degeneration being possible, it is called liberation by time because of liberation in other times, and from the aspect of complete degeneration being impossible, it is called liberation without being connected to time because of permanent liberation. That arises from the cause of the path of seeing. It means that even if the senses are transformed from learning, it will also become what is attained by the path of seeing. However, if one's nature is sharp, then in the sixteen moments of mind, it is only what is attained by the path of seeing. Therefore, this unwavering Dharma is called the path of seeing preceding. In the stage of the unwavering Dharma Arhat, whatever transforms the senses is not the path of seeing preceding, this should be understood. Some say that from the beginning, it is the possessor of the Dharma class that is thought to die, but it is not said to be the possessor of the Dharma class that completely degenerates. Like this, that comes from cultivation.
