What is the nature of those? It is said to be the nature of ethics, samadhi, and wisdom. Because one learns higher ethics, it is higher ethics. Similarly, because one learns up to higher wisdom, it is learning higher wisdom. Because it is inseparable from the three trainings, it is said that the very nature of ethics and so on is what is learned. It is said that even ordinary beings become learners, because ordinary beings also learn what has been said before. It is not so, because one does not fully know the truth as it is. That is not so. Why? Because it is said in the sutra, "Monks, whatever is seen by the noble ones with wisdom," that is, because one does not fully know the truths such as suffering as they are, that is, because one does not comprehend them. For example, after extensively explaining higher ethics and higher mind training in the sutra, what is higher wisdom training? The answer is, it is truly knowing as it is that this is the noble truth of suffering, this is the origin of suffering, this is the cessation of suffering, this is the noble truth of the path that leads to the cessation of suffering. Therefore, one does not know the truth as it is. Furthermore, because one abandons the training. Because from abandoning the Pratimoksha vows and turning warm, etc., from the aspect of completely falling away, one abandons the training for whatever one is training in, such as ethics. Even if the noble ones abandon a little, it is not all.

It is similar to being on the road because even though one has settled down, one has not given up the thought of going. Furthermore, it is related to attainment, as the noble ones, although dwelling in their own nature, are related to attainment through discipline, samadhi, and wisdom. Therefore, although dwelling in their own nature, they are merely in a state of learning. In the gap between learning and non-learning, what are the dharmas of learning? To explain this, these are spoken. The dharmas of learning are the nature of the uncontaminated and conditioned, and the dharmas of non-learning are the same. Why is nirvana not learning? This is because one wonders what is attained by learning. Both the non-learner and the ordinary person possess it, and the ordinary person also possesses nirvana attained through the worldly path. The so-called first entrant is the one who abides in the path of seeing. The so-called remaining entrants, broadly speaking, the remaining entrants, namely the once-returner, the non-returner, and the arhat, abide in the fruit, and therefore there is no difference. Because there is no difference between abiding in the fruit of stream-enterer, once-returner, and non-returner, it is said that entering the once-returner fruit, etc., is no different from entering the stream-enterer fruit, etc. In order to gradually attain, it is said that in order to gradually attain the four fruits, there are essentially five. If one is free from desire and attachment to desire in most cases, then being free from desire in most cases means that six types are exhausted. Being free from desire and attachment to desire means that nine types are exhausted. On the path of seeing, at the stage of the path of seeing, in order, one enters the fruit of once-returner and non-returner, but not the fruit of stream-enterer and once-returner. So what is it? It is different from that. If so, in essence, one enters the fruit of stream-enterer, once-returner, and non-returner.

The three and the four who abide in the fruit, a total of seven, will become Arhats. Only those who have entered the fruit of Arhatship are no different from the fruit of non-return. This should be understood. The so-called "path of meditation is divided into two" means that there are two types of meditation path, namely, "the path of seeing, without leakage." The so-called "because its afflictions will increase" means that, for the worldly path, the afflictions of its ground will increase due to attachment. The so-called "what kind of afflictions will increase" means that this is to show examples of conformity and non-conformity. Any path of a certain ground is not the antidote to the afflictions of that ground, because its afflictions will increase, just as other dharmas of that ground do not abide equally. An example of non-conformity is like the approaching path of the upper ground, or its antidote - the path without leakage. The so-called "the worldly path can also be free from desire" refers to the approaching path of the upper ground. The so-called "the transcendental path can also" refers to its antidote - the path without leakage itself and the path of the lower ground. The so-called "the noble one is free from desire by the worldly path" means that, for example, an enterer of the stream who abides in tranquility, becomes free from desire by the worldly path, and they each arise with the attainment of freedom from desire, with and without leakage. The so-called "relying on meditation" means that, for example, "the nine non-learners rely on, the six learners" because the path of learning relies on the six grounds to transform the faculties, but not for the formless realm, this should be determined. Therefore, it is said that those who transform the faculties by relying on meditation are because they have abandoned the previous path, because the path of the formless realm is held by dull faculties, abandoning what was previously obtained, and "increase, the fruit has differences. Having abandoned, the fruit is obtained," because only the fruit path is obtained, only the non-returner fruit is obtained, which is the nature of sharp faculties. It is the liberation from the afflictions of the upper ground, practiced in the formless realm.
