Moreover, since it is seen that one is immersed in samsara, therefore, regarding samsara, the continuum of consciousness connected with craving is similar to that. Why? Because one is immersed in it. Whatever one is immersed in, one knows that one enters into it. Here, what is established is that the continuum of consciousness connected with craving will enter into craving, because of being immersed, just as one is immersed in objects such as form. Like a dried dough of small fried barley flour holding the body, here, the small fried barley flour is the small fried barley flour used for bathing. Its dough is, here, because there is a dried dough of small fried barley flour, the dried dough of small fried barley flour holds the body. Similar to that, for example, just as the dried dough of small fried barley flour holds the body, so craving also holds the body, this is what is to be shown. This is reasonable, meaning that the cause of manifest accomplishment is craving. It is also said that "the two truths," this is mentioned in passing when speaking of the four truths. Like a vase and water, in order to closely show the two destructions, two metaphors are closely established, what is destroyed by being destroyed is the vase and so on. What is destroyed by wisdom is water and so on, because for water and so on, it is unreasonable to remove taste and so on by destroying. On the other hand, conventional truth is of two kinds: conventional truth that depends on others and conventional truth that depends on substance. Among them, what is conventional truth that depends on others? For it, destruction is possible and removal of others is also possible. What is conventional truth that depends on substance? For it, only the removal of others is possible, but destruction is not possible, because atoms cannot be divided into eight material components. To say "exists conventionally" means to exist nominally. To say "exists ultimately" means to exist ultimately, which is a synonym for existing in its own characteristic. Feeling and so on should also be viewed in the same way, meaning that feeling, perception, mind, and so on should also be viewed as only substantially existent. How should it be viewed? If one removes phenomena such as feeling with wisdom, the wisdom of the nature of feeling will arise, therefore feeling is substantially existent, perception and mind

The same should be applied to others as well. When saying "there is a vase and water," it is said to be true and not false, which is to show the intention of speaking of conventional truth. As it is said: Buddhas teach the Dharma, relying on two truths, the worldly conventional truth, and the ultimate truth. Thus it is explained. Similarly, the so-called ultimate truth is ultimate because it is the meaning of supreme wisdom. It is both ultimate and true, therefore it is the ultimate truth. As others in the world grasp, that is the conventional truth, because it is grasped by conventional terms or consciousness that is defiled and undefiled, therefore it is the conventional truth. According to the Yogachara school, there are three kinds of existence: conventional existence, ultimate existence, and substantial existence. Among them, substance, that is, existing in its own characteristic, is called substantial existence. The so-called "abiding in accordance with the Dharma" means to increase extensively, where "in accordance with the Dharma" is the discipline, which is the cause of being free from defilement, the cause of being undistracted, and the cause of the perfection of rituals. The so-called "conforming to seeing the truth" means that whatever hearing helps to see the truth, that hearing should be upheld and recited. The so-called "listening to its meaning" means to discern through listening to its meaning. To explain how the wisdom born of thought focuses on both, it is said: Sometimes words lead to meaning, that is, the name explained by words leads to meaning, saying "the meaning of this name is this." Sometimes meaning leads to words, that is, saying "the word for this meaning to be expressed is this," such as the phrase "the name is this." The sound of the word "word" is closely related to the name. The sutra also says: "Good meaning, good words." The teacher has extensively explained this distinction, saying that the wisdom born of thought will not be accomplished, which means that it is mixed with the characteristics born of hearing and meditation, but not unmixed.
