Among them, shamelessness and lack of embarrassment have already been explained, called: disrespect, shamelessness, lack of embarrassment, not looking at sinful terrors. This is how it is said. Generosity regarding Dharma and wealth, etc., is extensively explained as stinginess, which is an opposing clinging of the mind towards Dharma, wealth, and virtuous giving, not wanting to go from me to another, such a state is stinginess. Stinginess itself is stinginess, or the nature of a stingy person is stinginess. Regret and drowsiness are, already explained, called the thing of having done bad deeds is regret. Here it is said that regret is the Dharma that is conditioned by that, and drowsiness is the state of body and mind being unable to function. Sleep is the manifest gathering of the mind, if only these are said, then it will also be excessive for samadhi, therefore it is distinguished by not being able to truly hold the body, that is only an afflicted one. That and regret are only afflicted ones completely entangled, called sleep is whatever is an afflicted one, that is completely entangled, if it is virtuous or unspecified, that is not completely entangled, sleep is considered to be of three kinds. Regret is also whatever is an afflicted one, that is completely entangled, but it is not virtuous, that is considered to be virtuous and non-virtuous. Anger is, apart from harmful intent and various harms, the mind that always torments sentient and non-sentient beings, called harmful intent is total

English

The distinction of malice lies in being angry with sentient beings. The state of mind that wishes these sentient beings to be killed, bound, destroyed, or harmed in any way is harmful intent. Harming is engaging in actions such as slandering, beating, frightening, and threatening sentient beings. Anger is, other than these two, tormenting all sentient and non-sentient beings. For example, a monk who desires to learn the precepts is disturbed in mind, or is disturbed by thorns, etc. It is said that these are the actions of the wise and the unwise, respectively. Some say that the wise, such as kings, hide their faults because they fear losing gain and respect, which is in accordance with desire. The unwise hide their faults because they do not believe in the results of karma, and in order to conceal their sins and remain pure, they do not confess to others. Therefore, hiding is in accordance with both. How is shamelessness in accordance with ignorance? Because it is said, 'The shameless do not fear sin.' Regret arises from doubt, which is itself an affliction, because it is a state of being completely bound. Furthermore, there are six defilements of affliction. Just as the body produces dirt, so too from afflictions arise defilements such as illusion. Spreading rumors is distorting the truth. Pride has already been discussed, pride is: 'The mind is attached to its own dharma, completely immersed in it.' What is meant by being similar to what is abandoned by seeing the truth is that seeing the truth is what is seen. What is abandoned by seeing it is what is abandoned by seeing it. Being similar to it is what is abandoned by seeing it, because it is abandoned by seeing it. What are they? Shamelessness, etc. Other than that, it is what is abandoned by cultivation. What is meant by other than that is shamelessness.

English

Other than jealousy and so on, jealousy and so on are only to be abandoned through meditation, not through seeing. These five near afflictions are autonomous, not subject to the control of others like desire, that is its definition. Dullness, excitement, and sleep are unwholesome and neutral, because this is the category of universal connection, so it cannot be said to be established as virtuous. The previous neutral, the so-called "as appropriate," refers to all desires above the desire realm, including flattery and deceit. The so-called "showing oneself upside down" means that the Great Brahma himself showed himself upside down and began to seduce the Venerable Ashvajit. He asked, "Great Brahma, will these great elements all be extinguished?" Because he didn't know, he said some nonsense, saying, "I am Brahma, the Great Brahma, the自在者(Tibetan: དབང་ཕྱུག་གོ།, Sanskrit: īśvara, Romanization: ishvara, meaning: Lord), the creator, the manifestation, the giver, the giver, beyond all dharmas." In this way, he began to seduce with illusion. After that, the Great Brahma took the hand of the Venerable Ashvajit and sat to one side. After sitting to one side, he said, "While the Tathagata is alive, do you still want to ask me?" Therefore, this seems to be his illusion, because his retinue despised him, ashamed to hide his ignorance, so he said that. The so-called "flattery has already been said" means that flattery has already been said in "regret and sleep are not good, there is none in the first dhyana," but because it was mentioned in passing, it was said again. The so-called "five" refers to flattery, illusion, dullness, excitement, and pride. The so-called "these are all the grounds of mind" refers to sleep and arrogance. The so-called "near afflictions are also autonomous" refers to jealousy and stinginess, etc. The so-called "among the many grounds of afflictions, which are spoken of" refers only to disbelief, laziness, and carelessness. The others are not, dullness and excitement are these.
