Because the unobstructed path is equal to and possesses equanimity. At that time, the nature of the all-knowing faculty that follows the path is about to turn towards arising. Therefore, that fruit is obtained by nine things: the five faculties of faith, etc., the faculty of all-knowing, the faculty of wisdom, the faculty of mind, and the faculty of equanimity. The scripture says that two can also obtain it, which means it is obtained by the nature of the all-knowing faculty of the unobstructed path and the nature of the all-knowing faculty of the liberation path. The scripture says that they are the guide and the basis for obtaining separation in order, which means that the unobstructed path is the guide for obtaining that separation, because it is the cause of arising; the liberation path is its basis, because it is the foundation. Tenth chapter. The two are like expelling thieves and closing doors. For example, among two people, one expels the thieves and the other closes the door. Similarly, the unobstructed path guides the attainment of separation, because it takes away the attainment of afflictions and ceases them. The liberation path acts as a basis, because it arises together with the attainment of separation. The scripture says that the fruit of Arhatship is obtained by faith, etc., and the faculties other than the all-knowing faculty, which means that the fruit of Arhatship is obtained at the time of the Vajra-like Samadhi, and faith, etc., and the mind faculty are as before. At that time, the nature of the all-knowing faculty of the collection of the Vajra-like Samadhi of the unobstructed path is present. The scripture says, "Any one of the feeling of pleasure, the feeling of joy, and the feeling of equanimity," which means that if Arhatship is obtained by relying on the third Dhyana, then the feeling of pleasure is present at that time. However, if it is obtained by relying on the first or second Dhyana, then the feeling of joy is present at that time. If it relies on the unobstructed path, the special Samadhi, the fourth Dhyana, and consciousness.

And from the birthplaces of emptiness and nothingness, if obtained by relying on any one of them, then the root of equanimity is the present one. At this time, the nature of the all-knowing root of the assembly of the exhaustion of the path of liberation is manifestly directed towards birth. Therefore, that fruit is any one of the five roots such as faith, and the all-knowing root and the root with all-knowing, and the mind root and happiness, joy, and equanimity root, obtained by nine. That is obtained by the uninterrupted path and the path of liberation, and should be explained as before. Two are seven, eight, and nine, the fruit is a superfluous word. What is explained in detail one by one is that the once-returner fruit is also obtained by seven or eight or nine, and the non-returner fruit is the same. To show this, temporarily, if the once-returner fruit is gradually obtained, and also obtained by the worldly path, then it is said. The worldly path is: having aspects such as tranquility and coarseness, having upper and lower as the object of practice. Because the aspects of tranquility and so on and coarseness and so on appear, therefore, here the yogi views the upper ground as tranquility, splendor, and renunciation, while the lower ground is viewed as coarse, painful, and like a thick wall. That is also expressed in four ways: the path of joining, the uninterrupted path, the path of liberation, and the distinguished path. Among them, the path of joining is where the uninterrupted path arises, that is, by which one abandons afflictions. The path of liberation also arises after the uninterrupted path, and is the basis for obtaining the abandonment of afflictions. The distinguished path is the distinguished path before that, this path abandons the great great, great medium, great small, medium great, medium, medium small, small great, small medium, small small of afflictions.
