Thus it is said. It is also said in the Explanation of Distinctions, which is thought to express that very meaning. Meeting with the eye means appearing in the field of vision. Consciousness, by merely existing, means that it is shown not to be in the manner of the nature of the support. For example, just as it is said that the sun makes the day, it means that the sun makes the day just by existing. Similarly, consciousness knows consciousness. Why? Because that is how it is known in the world. That is without an agent, and in the extensive explanation, without an agent means that it prevents the agent and the action from becoming something other than the aggregate. Merely dharma means that it prevents the agent of one's own continuum. Merely cause and effect means that even without an agent, it shows that causes and effects are related to action and agent. In this regard, through the door of intention, the eye sees. Consciousness knows consciousness, and thus it is closely attached, which means that whatever thing is a limb for establishing a term, in order to truly establish the term here, even if it does not exist, it is completely conceived in the nature of existence, therefore the eye sees. Consciousness knows consciousness, and so on, is to establish agents and actions, and so on. One should not be attached to this, which means that the nature is other depending on things, and so on. One should not be attached to the definitive words of the people of the region, which means that the definite and certain speech among the people of the region is the definitive word of the people of the region, and one should not be attached to those, because this is the definitive word, therefore one should not be attached, or one should not think that all definitive words have only meaning. One should not be attached to worldly names, which means that one should not impute worldly names, such as self and life, and one should not impute what is not true, and think that there is a self other than the body, etc., this is the concluding statement.
