If someone asks, isn't it true that miracles are shown to some beings who are to be tamed? Answer: It is indeed so, but those are only to generate faith in them, and liberation from samsara is through showing the miracles of the teachings, gradually cultivating the antidotes to afflictions such as desire. The meaning of "after prostrating" is after bowing the head. The reason for saying bowing the head is that the word "prostration" is the basis of the action, so the word "after prostrating" means bowing, and bowing is known as the head in the world, so it is said to be the head. Although it is not mentioned here that one prostrates with speech and mind, it is already established, because the mention of qualities comes first, and also because the actions of body and speech precede the actions of mind. "After prostrating" is because it depends on other actions, so it is asked what to do. The meaning of "to explain the treatise" is that the collection of names that can clearly express the difference in meaning is the treatise. If it is said that because it is momentary, the collection is not reasonable, the answer is: because it is nominally established as a collection by the nature of the mind that holds it. "What is the treatise" means, what is the name in mind. The meaning of the word "Abhidharma-kośa" will be explained below, so it is temporarily put here. Understanding the general meaning is a prerequisite for understanding the meaning of the branches, so temporarily asking "What is Abhidharma" is asking the meaning of the branches. The meaning of "Abhidharma wisdom stainless accompanied" is that when distinguishing the Dharma in detail, wisdom is the main thing, so wisdom is spoken of in the main way. The meaning of "stainless" is without outflows, and the reason for saying stainless is without outflows is that defilements are synonyms for outflows. The meaning of "accompanied" is having retinue, just like acting with the king, and also doing things that are in accordance with the king, so it is said to be accompanying the king. Here too, the dharmas that arise together with it, at the same time as the cause, are also expressed only by accompanying. What are those? They are mind and mental factors, as well as the vows without outflows, and non-associated formations such as birth.

So, since mental events are pure, isn't the mind the primary one? Like this, these mental events exist in the mind or arise from the mind, so they are called mental events. Then, wisdom itself should be the retinue of the mind, not the mind, because wisdom arises from the mind. If it is said that this is true, but when distinguishing the Dharma in detail, even though wisdom arises from the mind, it becomes the chief of all aggregates. In some Dharmas, it sometimes becomes the chief, such as faith and so on when it is necessary to have complete faith. The so-called 'five uncontaminated aggregates' means that in that aggregate, the uncontaminated discipline is the aggregate of form. Whatever feeling is, that is the aggregate of feeling. Whatever perception is, that is the aggregate of perception. Mind and so on, and birth and so on, are the aggregate of formation. Here, whatever consciousness is, that is the aggregate of consciousness. The word 'temporary' in 'for the time being' indicates the order. The so-called 'ultimate truth' means that it is the ultimate truth itself, or it arises from the ultimate truth, so it is the ultimate truth. In a sense, it delights in and practices the ultimate truth, so it is the ultimate truth. Nominal designation is conventional truth. The so-called 'in order to obtain it' should also be said here in context that Abhidharma is accompanied by wisdom, and through direct or indirect means, one can obtain uncontaminated wisdom, whether it is contaminated wisdom arising from hearing, thinking, or meditating, or innate wisdom, these are also nominally designated Abhidharma. Among them, that arising from hearing is born from the practice of hearing. That arising from thinking is born from the practice of thinking. That arising from meditation is born from the practice of meditation. That which is innate is born from obtaining birth, because innate wisdom exists here. Since that which arises from hearing, that which arises from thinking, that which is innate, and that which arises from meditation are formless, the conduct is the following formless, therefore Abhidharma is the four aggregates.
