English
Discernment is discernment. These five aggregates of consciousness exist in a corresponding manner, therefore they are called those with discernment. Others are not, because these do not have the discernment of definite thought and recollection. Therefore, they are called those without discernment. For example, just as a horse with only one leg is said to have no legs. After cutting off three legs, even if there is one leg, it is said to have no legs. Similarly, even if there is one discernment, it is called without discernment. That is the discernment of definite thought, which refers to the wisdom of the mind that is not in meditative equipoise, but arises from hearing and thinking, and is obtained from birth. Because it exists in the mind, it is of the mind. Distraction means various, it is a synonym for various objects. Or, lacking depth, it is the distraction that relies on objects again and again. Why is it called the discernment of definite thought? Because it relies on the object to apply names, and because it definitely thinks of form, feeling, non-attention, and suffering, etc. Meditative equipoise arises from meditation, and because it focuses on the object without relying on names, it should not be called the discernment of definite thought. The mind's own memory, whether in meditative equipoise or not in meditative equipoise, is all meditative equipoise and not in meditative equipoise. What is the memory of self-nature? Because it is said in the sutras that 'the mind manifests,' it does not rely on names, but only focuses on experiencing the meaning of the object. Corresponding to the five aggregates of consciousness is experience.

We consider it to be with an object, and only with an object, and also half of the Dharma, this is doubly determined. Because only seven are with an object, and only half of the Dharma is with an object, this is determined. The remaining ten realms of the form realm, and those that do not possess the aspect of the Dharma realm, are said to be without an object, this is established, it is said. If this is not determined in this way, then this meaning will not be established. The so-called "uncollected nine" means determining that "nine is not." The so-called "together with half of the eighth" is a synonym for "together." The so-called "those eight" refers to those seven mind realms, and the Dharma realm that is said to have half with an object. Saying "eight" is because it is not permissible to know that half of the Dharma realm is included, so it is for including the entire Dharma realm, it is said that those eight and other sounds and nine are uncollected. The so-called "the other nine are two kinds," nine refers to the five roots such as the eye, and the four objects such as form other than sound. They are only two kinds, it is a synonym for saying "only collected and uncollected," for the meaning of "only collected is not non," it is briefly said "the other nine are two kinds." The so-called "the reason why benefit and harm harmonize with each other" means that for the eye realm and so on, there is benefit and harm, the characteristics of eye medicine and rubbing with hands, etc., will also become benefit and harm to the mind and mental factors, and for the benefit and harm to the mind and mental factors, the characteristics of pleasantness and unpleasantness will also become benefit and harm to the eye realm and so on. Therefore, the mind and mental factors are close by relying on the object of reliance, which means it is a synonym for possession. The so-called "what is said in the world as having a mind" is a synonym for "having life." The so-called "what is touched is two kinds" means that only what is touched is two kinds, and only two kinds are what is touched, this is doubly certain.

It has been determined. The remaining nine form aggregates are also determined in this "transformation." A portion of the dharma realm is also determined in this "transformation from arising." Because these have been determined, it is proven that the dharma realm is not both, except for the remaining seven mind realms and non-cognition. Because the four elements themselves have been determined as characteristics such as hardness, the tactile realm has the earth, water, fire, and wind realms, and the four elements. Among these, softness and the like, and the eye and the like, are not elements. Because characteristics such as hardness have been determined, other dharmas such as the eye will not be mixed into the earth, water, fire, and wind realms. How is it understood? The four great elements are the earth realm, the water realm, the fire realm, and the wind realm. What is the earth realm? Hardness itself, this is a detailed explanation. These are also tangible, because hardness and the like are tangible. Thus, these are tangible, while colors and the like are visible, audible, smellable, and tasteable. How is it known that these are tangible? Therefore, it is said that the eye and the like do not grasp hardness and the like. What then? Only the body's sense organ, therefore it is known that these are tangible. If someone thinks that colors and the like are also tangible, therefore it is said that the body's sense organ is not colors and the like. What? Grasping, this is said in conjunction with the context. It is also said in the sutra, this is a detailed explanation, that is, it is also explained in detail in other sutras. How is it explained? Monks, tangible things are external sources, that is, the four great elements and the form, invisible, and obstructive things born from the four great elements, this passage of scripture has a detailed explanation. The remaining sources such as the eye are not elements, this has been clearly shown.
