The sound of entering does not distinguish the directions. But if it is not seen, what is it called? Then, the aggregate that is imputed should be combined with the occasion. That extremely subtle is one element, which is explained extensively, that is, whatever is said to be any element or realm, is only one form aggregate. Although it is a direction, it is also close to taking like having a direction, that is, although the atom is a direction, it is also close to taking the form aggregate like any form realm or element. For example, if one side of a cloth is burned, it is said that the cloth is burned, that is, how the sound of cloth enters generally, but it also takes each side of the cloth closely, similarly, the sound of aggregate enters the general form of past etc., and also takes the direction atom closely. Because it is an aggregate of form etc., only aggregates are imputed, not realms and elements, when only form is an aggregate, when that word is abbreviated, it is thought to be real. Here, it should be examined that if the root atoms and the object atoms are mutually dependent and the same for generating consciousness, then why are these two not established as one like only the root atoms? Like this, all the atoms of the eye sense etc. are the common cause of generating their own consciousness, but the atoms of the object are not like that. Like this, the atoms of the eye sense are also the cause of generating the consciousness of the blue object, and also the cause of generating the consciousness of yellow etc. The blue atoms are only the cause of generating their own consciousness, not the cause of generating the consciousness of yellow etc. Therefore, the atoms of the eye sense and the atoms of its object enter differently, and because they reside in different places, the atoms of the eye and form are not one.

It is not permissible to establish it as one; likewise, it should be stated until the physical faculties and the subtle particles of tangible objects cannot be established as a single source. 'For the sake of the three obscurations' means the meaning of the phrase 'for the sake of the three kinds of complete obscuration, wisdom, and faith.' There are three kinds of obscuration, faculties, and desires. Therefore, 'by grasping at a whole self' means that some people grasp at mental events as a whole and cling to those very things as the self. Because of grasping at a whole, the clinging to a self arises. For them, the aggregates are shown, that is, the three kinds of mental events, which are the distinctions of feeling, perception, and formation, are shown. To counteract the clinging to a self, it is said that this is not a single whole, but a distinction of mental events. In another way, some people completely delude themselves into thinking that this object of the self is the nature of a whole, and that self is also a feeler, a perceiver, and a thinker. For them, the aggregates are shown, saying that this is not the nature of a collection of self, but that these are mental events, that is, feeling, perception, and formation arise, and this is done to counteract the clinging to a self. 'Some people only in form' should be connected with the context, saying that they are completely deluded by grasping at a whole. For them, the sources are shown, in which form is divided into many kinds by the distinctions of the eye and so on, and mental events are shown as only one dharma source, and mind is also shown as only the mind source. 'Some people in form and mind' should only be connected with the context, saying that they are completely deluded by grasping at a whole. For them, the realms are shown, in which form is divided into many kinds by the distinctions of the eye and so on, and mind is also divided into many kinds by the distinctions of the realms of eye consciousness and so on, but mental events are not, because they are only shown as the dharma realm. Therefore, it counteracts the complete delusion of grasping at form and mind as a whole.

English

It is so. "The faculties, etc." means that, in detail, beings are of three types: those with sharp faculties, those with medium faculties, and those with dull faculties. Alternatively, beings are of three types: those who understand through mentioning the beginning, those who understand through detailed explanation, and those who accept the words themselves. For those with sharp faculties, the aggregates are shown, because they are sharp, and they can understand the division of realms and sources merely by analyzing the aggregates. As it is said, "Bhikkhu, whatever is not yours, you should abandon." And like, "Venerable One, I understand," etc. And like, "Bhikkhu, how do you understand this brief teaching?" "Venerable, form is not me, I should abandon this dharma," etc., is an example of detailed explanation. For those with medium faculties, the sources are shown, because they are of medium faculties, and they can understand merely through a medium level of demonstration, not through a very detailed one. By analyzing the sources, they can understand the realms well, but not by briefly analyzing the aggregates. For those with dull faculties, the realms are shown, because they are dull, and they cannot understand without analysis by their own intelligence. "Desire is also of three types" means that, from previous habitual actions, desire is of three types. One is that those who practice shamatha tend to be brief. Those who practice shamatha and vipashyana tend to be intermediate. Those who practice vipashyana tend to be detailed. "And why" is explained in detail that for those who are confused by clinging to mental factors as a whole self, hasn't the reason for showing the aggregates already been explained? If it is said that the mental factors are analyzed in detail for them, that is true, but only feeling and perception are separated as aggregates from the aggregate of formations, and the others are not, what is the reason for this? In detail, "particularly attached to desire" is attachment to desires and views. The root of disputes, the two main causes of particular attachment, are feeling and perception in order, which refers to the main cause.
