It is said that it will be said, it is said that it will be explained. This venerable one adheres to the view of the Sutra School. In the Vibhajyavāda, it is written "The venerable one says so and so," etc. The venerable Dharma Rescue also wrote in the Vibhajyavāda "The venerable Dharma Rescue says so and so," etc., only writing his own name. Therefore, this venerable one is evidently some elder monk of the Sutra School other than Dharma Rescue. "To be grasped by the senses" refers to the five objects such as form. "The other is subtle" refers to the five senses such as the eye and non-manifestation. "Satisfactory" means that what pervades the mind is satisfactory, which is a synonym for pleasing. "Distant is the object not appearing" refers to the object of the base and the object of the support. "What can be seen is appearance." Because this has object appearance, it is that which has object appearance, that is, the object of the base or the object of the support has appearance. For example, like a juniper pot or eyes, etc., that is near. That which has object non-appearance is the opposite of that, it is distant. The reason why it is not said "distant is non-appearance" is that some, although near, do not appear because they are very subtle, but that is that which has object appearance, therefore it is not considered distant either. Furthermore, why does the venerable one say that? Because the past, etc., are indicated by their own names. If it were not so, there would be the fault of repetition. "Their distance and proximity depend on the support" means that those such as feelings are not sentient beings, therefore they do not abide in the object, therefore it should be said that what exists far away is feelings, etc., that depend on non-appearance. What exists near depends on those that appear. "Coarse and subtle themselves are as before" means that coarse depends on the five senses. Subtle arises from the mind. Mind and mental events arise, occur, and increase, therefore they are the sources. Relying on the two, consciousness arises, everything is established as being the source itself. In "support or continuum as one," support is the general characteristic of the body.

The continuum is the characteristic of the continuity of mind and mental events. If it is of its own kind, what is it? It should be applied to the occasion as "sources." Because it is the cause of equal share, it is said that what is born before is the cause of the equal share of the latter, so the source is the element. Those from which gold and so on arise are the sources of those. The unconditioned does not become an element, because the unconditioned is not the cause of the equal share of the unconditioned or others. If so, what does it mean to say that it is of mind and mental events? It should be applied to the occasion as "sources." Because consciousness arises in dependence on the two, undoubtedly all the elements are the objects and masters of the arising of consciousness equally endowed, so they are sources. Like heaps and persons, it is said that the aggregates are to be expressed as the sound of heaps, so they are nominally existent, like heaps of grain or persons. That person is nominally existent because it is a nature that cannot be grasped without relying on the cause of imputation such as form, just like a heap of grain. The meaning of carrying the burden of action is that action itself is the burden, so it is the burden of action, and because it carries it, it is carrying. Carrying the burden of action is a part of the body, and it is said in the world that it is carrying the burden on the shoulders. Because the six sense bases and so on arise due to the cause of name and form, it also carries the burden of action. Therefore, it is nominally designated as being like an aggregate, just like carrying the burden on the shoulders. The meaning of complete cessation is a synonym for the meaning of boundary, from complete cessation in form to complete cessation in consciousness. It contradicts the sutra, which means both the meaning of carrying the burden of action and the meaning of complete cessation. Contradicting the sutra means going beyond the sutra. The sutra means that it elaborately shows it. How does it elaborately arise as the aggregates themselves separately? It is said that all these, such as past form, are each separately the aggregate of form.
