From hearing pleasant sounds, approaching sounds like pleasant realms, and similarly, fully understanding the dharmas of the mind, approaching dharmas like pleasant realms, and so on. Similarly, seeing forms with the eye, like unpleasant realms, and like realms of equanimity, etc., should be explained extensively. It is called threefold because the nature of pleasantness, unpleasantness, and equanimity are three kinds. It is called one because it is merely associated with the consciousness of the mind. It is called sixfold because the six objects such as form are distinct. It is also established as threefold, which means that the nature of feeling, which is associated with the consciousness of the mind, is one. It is divided into three kinds from the perspective of the three distinct natures of pleasantness, etc. It is also divided into six kinds from the perspective of the six distinct objects, so there are eighteen kinds. If the nature is not established, there will be no approaching of what is called pleasantness, unpleasantness, and equanimity. If there is no other association, there will be no such thing as the approaching of the mind, and it will also become different from the eighteen kinds. If the six objects such as form, which are the objects of focus, are not established, there will be no eighteen kinds of approaching of the mind from the perspective of the six distinct kinds of pleasantness, etc. Therefore, it is established that it is established as threefold. What is called non-contaminated object refers to an object that is not mixed. What is called the three that approach the Dharma are two, which means that those that approach the Dharma, focusing on the Dharma, other than the five objects such as form, are non-contaminated objects. Those that focus on two or three of the six objects such as form, up to the six objects, are contaminated objects. Because it relies on the mind to act, it is called such. The sound called such is used to show other tenets, that is, relying on the mind and abiding in it, approaching the objects, so it is called such, that is, the object of focus.

Therefore, it is called a word. The so-called "close conduct" is to enter. For example, it is said that because of feeling, consciousness repeatedly wanders in all realms. The word "close" means repeatedly. The so-called "non-close conduct" is a term for non-decisive awareness. The so-called "unreasonable" means impossible. If the mind's close conduct depends only on the mind, then the pleasure of the third dhyana depends only on the mind and not on the eye faculty, etc. Why is it not mentioned in the mind's close conduct? First, the desire realm is extensively described, the first is the first. There is no mind-born pleasure in the desire realm. Therefore, that is not the mind's close conduct. Therefore, in the remaining third dhyana, the source of pleasure depends only on the mind, but it is not mentioned in the mind's close conduct. Just as the close conduct of mental pleasure does not match the close conduct of mental displeasure, similarly, the close conduct of pleasure does not match the close conduct of suffering. Because suffering does not depend on the mind's consciousness. Therefore, that pleasure is not entirely the mind's close conduct. The so-called "saying" refers to other doctrines. The so-called "like the realm of mental pleasure" refers to generating mental pleasure. The so-called "consciousness aggregate" extensively describes: The so-called "eye sees all forms," etc., extensively describes that the five consciousness aggregates are manifested and produced, which is based on this and spoken, remembered and spoken in the mind, not that these are mind-born. For example, because of seeing unpleasant realms, previously distinguished, etc., the manifestation of eye consciousness is also attention in the mind, so it is also the mind's realm. Also, the saying between "eye sees all forms" and "body touches all touches," therefore, there should be no dispute. If the eye sees all forms, mental pleasure

From "the mind rejoices in forms like pleasant places" to "when the body touches what is to be touched," if it were said that way, it might be arguable, but since it was not said that way, it is indeed not arguable. "From not seeing," etc., extensively explained, refers to the mind rejoicing after hearing from others, which is also his mind's rejoicing. "Otherwise," etc., extensively explained, refers to those born in the desire realm, because they have not directly perceived forms, etc., so the mind rejoicing in the form realm will not become rejoicing in forms, etc., and those born in the form realm, focusing on the desire realm, will not become rejoicing in smells, tastes, and tactile objects, because smells, etc., are not their objects. "How it is most clear is how it is explained" means that the mind's rejoicing that directly perceives forms, etc., as objects is the clearest. Whoever sees forms, etc., and rejoices in the sounds that arise simultaneously with them, that is also his mind's rejoicing, but it is explained in such a way that it is not confused. "How is it not confused? From the perspective of the senses and objects being distinct" is stated, and it is explained from the perspective of the eye, etc., being distinct, and the objects such as forms being distinct. If it were not so, if the eye saw forms, etc., and the mind rejoiced in sounds like pleasant places, etc., it would be confused. "It exists by the determination of the continuum" means that, observing the continuum of some sentient beings, for some, it is only from pleasant places to neutral places. It is not the object. What is it? It is determination. Why? Because the same object is a pleasant place for some, and not for others. Similarly, from between being associated with form and formlessness, it means how many are associated with the form realm? Among those, what is the object of how many? How many are associated with the formless realm? Among those, what is the object of how many? Twentieth Chapter
