This is because the previous extreme, along with its result, is mentioned in order, and the later extreme, along with its cause, is mentioned. Among them, the causes of the previous extreme are ignorance and formation. Its results are the five limbs from consciousness to feeling. The results of the later extreme are birth and old age and death. Its causes are craving, grasping, and existence, the three limbs. In this way, it will be said that seven limbs are the previous extreme, and five are the later extreme. Furthermore, what are these such as ignorance? That is, is it just ignorance itself? Or all the afflictions? Or is it the state of affliction? Doubts arise and questions are asked. Because they act together, it means that the afflictions act together with ignorance. Because of its power, those all arise. It means that because of the power of ignorance, those afflictions all arise. Arising means following it; afflictions arise when there is ignorance, but not when there is no ignorance. If it is said that the king has passed away, it means that, for example, if it is said that the king has passed away, because they act together and because of its power, those subjects and so on all arise, so his attendants, subjects, and so on will also come, which is similar to this. In this way, due to the power of ignorance, the limb of ignorance is the state of affliction, which is the conclusion. Therefore, the previous state of affliction is mentioned, but the previous state of ignorance is not mentioned. The state of meritorious and other actions is the conclusion of the state of meritorious, non-meritorious, and unwavering actions. It is said that it is up to the arising of the four sources, because the sources of body and mind have already arisen in the state of existence at birth. The reason for establishing them there at that time is that when the sources of eyes and so on arise, they are established as the sources of body and mind. That is up to the union of the three.

The so-called "contact" refers to the six sense sources, that is, up to the aggregation of the three, that is, the aggregation of the root, object, and consciousness. The so-called "contact is the cause of pleasure and pain, etc., up to the ability to know" means that the aggregation of the six roots, objects, and consciousnesses is contact, because the six sense sources are complete before there is aggregation, so it is distinguished at the time of birth. What is the limit? It refers to the ability to know the causes of pleasure, pain, and neither pleasure nor pain. That is, the child cannot fully distinguish what is the cause of pleasant feelings, what is the cause of painful feelings, and what is the cause of neither pleasant nor painful feelings. This stage is called contact. For example, a child cannot fully determine that this is the cause of pain, so he will touch the fire. When you can fully distinguish it, it is the stage of feeling. What is the limit? It refers to sexual behavior as the limit, that is, the stage before the desire for sexual behavior is not fully carried out is called feeling. This stage is the most prominent stage of feeling, because feeling is the cause of feeling. Craving is "a greedy person who enjoys sexual behavior", which refers to the desire of a person who is greedy for the enjoyment of the characteristics of the object of desire, such as form, and the sexual behavior mentioned in the world, and the stage of complete enjoyment is called craving. Because this will grasp the nature of the object and the self, it is close grasping, that is, the four defilements, and this stage is called grasping. The so-called "until the fruit will be born", the word "that" means complete pervasiveness. Because this will produce the fruit of existence, it is said that the fruit of existence will be born, that is, the karma of existence. The so-called "that is existence" means that because this will produce it, it is said to be existence, that is, another name for karma. The so-called "between feelings is old age and death" means that what is connected to feelings is old age and death, that is, the nature of the four limbs such as name and form. The Blessed One
