Between the five abandonments that correspond to the final part, it is as before. Moving upwards, this is explained as the seventh state of a noble person. What is complete nirvana without attachment? This refers to the state entered by a monk like this, and up to the point where questions can be asked, it is the same as before. A monk who has entered in this way will not say that he goes to the east, nor will he say that he goes to the south, nor will he say that he goes to the west, nor will he say that he goes to the north, nor will he say that he goes to the bottom, nor will he say that he goes to the top, nor will he say that he goes to the corners, nor will he go to other places, but without craving for the Dharma that is seen, he will completely pass into nirvana, become cool, and become a Brahmachari. This is complete nirvana without attachment. Monks, I have shown you the seven states of a noble person, and also complete nirvana without attachment, which is what I have said. Others say that the detailed explanation goes all the way to the end of life. The end of life is synonymous with "completely unexhausted." Between approaching the gods refers to the abode of the gods, which is approaching the gods, and in the state of approaching the gods, abandoning afflictions, this is the complete nirvana in the intermediate state. This also refers to the complete nirvana in the state of the realm, which refers to the state of the seeds of affliction at the time of birth, which is the synonym for not using afflictions. The state of consciousness refers to the complete nirvana in the state of universally using the consciousness of objects, which is much later than the state of the realm, and is nirvana. The state of conceptualization refers to the complete nirvana in the state of universally using conceptualization, which is much later than the state of consciousness, and is complete nirvana. These three examples, as mentioned above, illustrate that there are three types of complete nirvana in the intermediate state. Or, the first is completely accepting similarity, which refers to the time of birth.

Furthermore, it is exemplified by the small fire of dawn, which is what is to be explained. The second is to fully experience the wealth of the gods and then completely liberate from sorrow, which is exemplified by a hot iron mass. This is what is to be explained. The third is to enter into the correct practice of Dharma, engage in discussions of the essence of Dharma, and thereby completely liberate from sorrow, which is exemplified by a hot iron mass rising into the sky and dying before it falls to the ground. This is what is to be explained. Thus, other schools believe that there is no intermediate state (bardo), so how can one completely liberate from sorrow in the intermediate state? And how can these three different states be demonstrated with three metaphors? After such demonstration, if someone argues that if entering into the correct practice of Dharma and completely liberating from sorrow is considered to be completely liberating from sorrow in the intermediate state, then what is it like to completely liberate from sorrow after birth? Therefore, there is the statement that completely liberating from sorrow after birth is completely liberating from sorrow by entering into the supreme correct practice. They believe that because of possessing supreme practice, there is the meaning of birth. Entering into the correct practice, because of similarity, it is considered that this distinction is unreasonable, therefore it is also said to cut off most of the lifespan, meaning to completely liberate from sorrow after exhausting most of the lifespan. All of these, in detail, refer to temporary states such as the realm (Sanskrit: dhātu), etc., all of which do not match the metaphors of dawn, etc. Why? Because there is no distinction of going elsewhere, because there is no difference of going elsewhere. For these, because of completely liberating from sorrow in the same place, there is no distinction of going elsewhere, while the three metaphors mentioned in the sutra have the distinction of going elsewhere, so they do not match these. It is also the same in the formless realms, in detail, if it is like this, only completely liberating from sorrow after birth is considered to be completely liberating from sorrow in the intermediate state, then a distinction must be made.
