That which is called "to be known" refers to the realm of the formless, which is the realm of form, that which holds all forms. The realm of the formless is the realm of the formless, that which holds the formless. That which is called "desire associated with coarse food and sexual intercourse" is coarse because it acts as coarse food. That itself is food, so it is coarse food. That which arises from male and female is sexual intercourse, such as the giving of each other by two people. That which is associated with or arises from coarse food and sexual intercourse is the desire of craving associated with coarse food and sexual intercourse, because it causes desire, it is desire. If one asks, how is it known to be so? Because the meaning is shown by the verses spoken by the venerable Shariputra. "Whatever various things there are in the world, these are not desire," and so on, has been extensively spoken. In another verse spoken by Sarvastivadin, a bhikshu distinguishes between the various discriminations of desire by bhikshus, saying that this is indeed the enjoyment of desire, which is the promise of the venerable one. There are three ways of enjoying desire: body, speech, and mind. Among these, even if one is not separated from desire and only enjoys desire with the mind, one will not become a non-bhikshu, but only this person's discipline will become completely impure. If someone transgresses the boundaries of the training established by the Tathagata with body and speech, and completely enjoys desires, then he will become a non-bhikshu. Therefore, he commits other offenses. If it is said that "whatever various things there are in the world are desire," and so on, has been extensively spoken, if your side thinks that various objects such as form are desire, then your teacher is without desire. Even if you admit this, then your teacher, even if he has not personally enjoyed those objects of the body, merely by seeing pleasing forms, will become one who enjoys desire, and will therefore change. If this is not thought to be so, then therefore, a man's discrimination is desire, which is desire, and thus it is established. That which is called "what dharma" is a synonym for "what is it." That which is called "not spoken" means prevention.

What is it doing? Like this, the dharmas of other realms, and those that do not belong to realms, are also universally used in other realms, and in the desire realm, the dharmas of the three realms and the unpolluted dharmas are universally used. In the form realm, it is the same, where what is used in the desire realm is the mind of emanation. In the formless realm, it is what is used in the formless realm and the unpolluted dharmas. Therefore, it is denied as not being so. So what is it? Those in whom desire, form, and formless realm's attachment increase, that is, those in whom desire realm's attachment increases appropriately through the means of object or equality, those are the ones with desire. Those in whom form and formless realm's attachment increase, those are the ones with form and formlessness respectively. Now this is like a horse and a foal, a horse and a foal are a horse and a foal. Like a horse and a foal is like a horse and a foal. Or this belongs to the horse and foal, so it is a horse and foal, it is like a horse and foal. If someone asks whose foal this is, the other one says it belongs to whoever the horse belongs to. If he asks again whose horse this is, the other one says it belongs to whoever the foal belongs to. Neither the horse nor the foal is known, just as they do not establish each other, neither can be completely determined, just like that, here also, attachment does not establish the realms, nor do the realms establish attachment, so neither of these two can be established. Showing the place in the desire realm. That is to say: hell beings, pretas, animals, humans, and the six gods, are the desire realm, hell and the divisions of continents make twenty. That is to say, among those places shown in the desire realm, what is the attachment that is not separated from desire, that is the desire realm's attachment. Similarly, the attachment of the form and formless realms refers to the places shown in the form realm, the seventeen places above are the form realm, for those, what is the attachment that is not separated from desire?
