and the different names for the non-existent. If not found, it means if not obtained. After the subtle arising and the cessation of the born, by the power of individual examination, by the power of wisdom, the subtle arising and the non-arising of others are the cessation of individual examination. Thus, the cessation of subtle arising is the cessation of the truth of the origin. The cessation of birth is the cessation of the truth of suffering, as it is said. Also, in order to establish the Nirvana with remainder and the Nirvana without remainder, both are mentioned. What are the subtle arisings of the Sautrāntika school? How do these arisings cease by the power of individual examination? Subtle arising is the habit of ninety-eight subtle arisings. In the first moment, whichever subtle arising is the antidote to the path of individual examination, that arises simultaneously with the subtle arising. In the second moment, etc., it ceases by its power. By its power alone, it is also the cessation that does not connect the continuity of existence. For example, the remainder of the same kind who die in the intermediate state, etc., are explained in detail. The nature of the same kind of person, etc., or the self-nature of the aggregates of the five aggregates. The remainder is only the arising of its nature, the remainder of the same kind who die in the intermediate state, which is not completely fulfilled, only because the conditions are not complete, is the cessation of non-individual examination. The incompleteness of the conditions is that the conditions such as equipment are not complete, so the last death of the aggregates, etc., cannot continue the same kind. Therefore, it is the cessation of individual examination, meaning the realm of Nirvana with the remainder of the aggregates. Not arising suffering means without the remainder of the aggregates. What is said to be the cessation of non-individual examination, not arising suffering, the cause of that birth is subtle arising not complete, because it is done by individual examination, so it cannot be accomplished without individual examination. Therefore, it is only the cessation of individual examination. Because it ceases by its own nature.

"Cessation" means that because of the cessation of self-nature, it is not due to the power of wisdom, this is its definition. "If it does not cease, then it does not exist" means that if subtle afflictions do not cease, because it is not a separate antidote, there is no cessation. "Having unprevented arising" means that these have unprevented arising because there is unprevented arising. What are the antidotes that prevent arising? That is the wisdom of the antidote. The detailed explanation of "if only non-arising" is that annihilation is considered nirvana. If only non-arising is called nirvana, then non-arising is only the future, the past and present have already arisen, so there is no non-arising. Then, how does the sutra say "the suffering of the past, future, and present will be eliminated"? How is this sutra explained? If nirvana is another entity, then by constantly practicing, etc., the nirvana of the past and present will also be obtained, so this sutra is well explained. "Because attachment to it is cut off" means that because attachment to suffering is cut off, this is its definition. "What is the desire and attachment to form, etc.?" Among them, desire is the pursuit of the future, and attachment is the clinging to what has been obtained. "In detail, up to consciousness" means that the desire and attachment to feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness, cut them off! If you cut off desire and attachment, then you will also cut off such consciousness. Therefore, "the suffering of the three times will also be cut off" means that only cutting off desire and attachment is cutting off the suffering of form, etc. The future of desire and attachment will also not arise, therefore, the suffering of the three times can also be cut off. "There, the method is also only this" means that if it is said that the afflictions of the past, future, and present will be cut off, then there, the method is affliction.

It is only this that elaborately explains the phrase "Abandon desire and whatever desire there is for lust or hatred." By abandoning the afflictions that are directed towards them, one also abandons the afflictions. Since it is not so by its own nature, it is also possible to abandon the afflictions of the three times. This is a concluding statement. Or, the meaning is explained in detail. The former life exists in the former life. This life exists in this life. In this way, a single moment of affliction is taught. How is this to be understood? It is not that all the afflictions of the former life and this life are combined into a single moment. Therefore, for example, it is stated in detail, "For those who have fully indulged in craving." By seeing such things in others as well, it should be understood that it is so. How can there be eighteen kinds of fully indulged craving in a single moment of the past? Therefore, it is said with reference to the past life. The eighteen kinds of fully indulged craving are: if monks hold the thought "I am," they will think "I am like this," and "I am like that," and "I exist," and "I do not exist," and "I am other." They will also think "This will happen," and "This will not happen," and "This will happen like this," and "This will happen like that," and "This will happen in another way." They will also think "Will this happen?" and "Will this happen like this?" and "Will this happen like that?" and "Will this happen in another way?" They will also think "Will this happen or not?" and "Will this happen like that or not?" and "Will this happen like this or not?" and "Will this happen in another way or not?" It is said that even up to what is happening now is the same.
