And it would be absurd to have a common cause. Those born from different causes would also be absurd to have a common cause with those born from different causes. The differences in time and lineage are not mind and mental factors. If it is said that they have the same aspect and object, then if the mind and mental factors have the same aspect, that is, having the same aspect such as blue, and the same object, that is, having the same object such as blue, then they are the cause of having the same, otherwise they are not. If so, it would be thought that the difference in time and lineage would be overturned. If so, it would also lead to the same absurd conclusion, that is, things born from different times and lineages would be absurd to have a common cause with each other, which is a summary statement. For minds and mental factors that arise from different times and lineages, it is also possible to have the same aspect and object. It would also lead to absurd conclusions for those born from different lineages, which is only excluding those born from different times. Observing many things such as the appearance of the moon, minds and mental factors will produce the same aspect and object. Those with the same basis, because these have the same and undifferentiated basis, are those with the same basis. If the word "same" is understood to mean similar, then because of the similarity of the species, it will also lead to the same absurd conclusion. Because of the relationship of being mutual fruits, just as guests rely on each other to travel together, the mind is also the fruit of the mental factors, and the mental factors are also the fruit of the mind, because of the relationship of being mutual fruits, so for this reason, they are the cause of arising together. With the five similarities, the detailed explanation is with the five similarities, that is, the basis, object, aspect, time, and substance are the same. Because of the meaning of having a common function, because of the meaning of having a common function, it is the cause of having the same, just like relying on each other to travel together.

Those arriving guests, just as they fully enjoy food, drink, bathing, bedding, and cushions, these too are similarly possessed by each other. Therefore, it is said that even if one is missing, all are equally possessed. The so-called "five pervasive ones" means that they are both pervasive and prior, so they are the prior pervasive ones. The so-called "the pervasive dharmas of one's own ground, those that arose earlier" refers to the subtle increase of the pervasive ones, those that have arisen in the past and present. Those with afflictions, are of the same nature as afflictions, and completely initiate the later ones, those that have arisen in the past and present, and are the pervasive cause of those in the future. The so-called "to be explained" means that in the fifth chapter of the Abhidharmakośa, it says: "Suffering and cause are abandoned by seeing, views and also doubt, whatever is unmixed with it, what ignorance is pervasive." This is what is to be explained here. Because it is the common cause of afflicted dharmas, that is why it is said. The detailed explanation is that because this is the pervasive cause of only the five categories of afflicted ones, and the equal cause is both of the afflicted and the non-afflicted, therefore it is distinguished separately. In order to explain how this is the common cause of afflicted dharmas, it is said, "because it is also the cause of other categories." The so-called "by their power" means that by the power of these pervasive ones, other categories of afflictions, such as desire, will arise. What are those? The cause of the pervasive ones, suffering

Yes. Therefore, all afflictions are rooted in the view of the perishable aggregate. As it is said in the scriptures, they arise from the view of the perishable aggregate and originate from the view of the perishable aggregate. Because through clinging to the self, attachment, pride, anger, and so on all arise. The phrase "as for the afflicted dharmas of the noble ones" means that the pervasive activities of the noble ones are to be abandoned by seeing, therefore all are abandoned. As for attachment and so on, the learners engage in them, thinking that those attachments and so on are not the cause of pervasiveness, and they ask accordingly. The term "afflicted dharmas" is used without distinction, so it should be understood as referring to those arising from the continuums of ordinary beings and noble ones. The phrase "what is the maturation of the dharmas to be abandoned by seeing" is stated to complete the meaning, not as an example. The phrase "unspecified conditioned dharmas" refers to both obscured and unspecified and unobscured and unspecified. Obscured and unspecified refers to the view of the perishable aggregate and the view of extremes in the desire realm, as well as the dharmas that are in accordance with them, and the dharmas that arise from them, and the afflicted dharmas that are practiced in the form and formless realms. The mention of "conditioned" is to exclude space and non-analytical cessation, because it is said in the scriptures, "the truly unspecified has been stated," so these two are unspecified. Among them, the afflicted dharmas that are practiced in the desire realm are the various views of the perishable aggregate, etc., which themselves are the causes of equanimity, pervasiveness, simultaneous arising, and correspondence, and are the causes of the unspecified, but not others. As for those on higher levels, others are also, which is easy to understand. Unobscured and unspecified is the cause of obscured and unspecified by the cause of equanimity. Non-virtuous things are of the desire realm.
