Why is that? Because the statement that "this view is a wrong view and is sinful" is a universally present cause. This is determined by the meaning of generating the continuation of afflicted dharmas with the same or different destinies. This refers to the maturation results arising from non-virtuous actions, virtuous actions with outflows, and meditation, which are individually and truly experienced by beings. The statement in the sutra that "the maturation result of intentionally thinking, acting, and accumulating" is the cause of maturation results, which is determined by the very act of producing different results. Therefore, these six causes are only well-known in the Sutra Pitaka, so the Vaibhashikas think that "causes are of six types." This is their thought. The phrase "the cause that produces other than itself" is synonymous with "other than itself," because it is contradictory for its own definition to produce, so its own nature is not a cause. The statement that "all conditioned dharmas are the acting cause" means that the very act of acting is the cause, so it is called the acting cause, that is, the cause that is not referred to by a specific name, but is expressed by generally grasping the essence of the cause, that is the acting cause. For those other causes that are described by specific names, there is no particular distinction made, and the cause itself is their particularity, as is the case, for example, when describing the ayatanas of form. The reason for saying "because it exists in the nature of not obstructing arising" is that for those things that have arising, the dharmas other than themselves exist in the nature of not obstructing arising, therefore it is called the acting cause. The detailed mention of "for those outflows that are not known" means that if they were known, then those outflows that have arisen would not arise again, and so on. For those who have not generated the paths of seeing and meditation, they do not know, so those outflows that should be destroyed by the paths of seeing and meditation, such as desire, etc., will arise. But for those who have generated the paths of seeing and meditation, they know, so those desires, etc., that should be destroyed by them will not arise. So, what will be the result? It is said: Those...

For arising, the knowledge gathered by the paths of seeing and meditation creates obstacles. For seeing the stars, the sun's light obstructs the arising of seeing, and this should be understood in context. If that is so, then how can all dharmas belonging to one's own nature be the cause of conditioned arising? For example, for the arising of defilements, knowledge is the cause of its arising, and for the arising of seeing the stars, the sun's light is the cause. Therefore, it should be said that for the arising of defilements, all dharmas except for one's own nature and knowledge are the cause of conditioned arising; for the arising of seeing the stars, all dharmas except for one's own nature and the sun's light are the cause of arising. Because of abiding in the nature of not obstructing arising, this means that when various conditions gather, the dharma that follows is called arising, and this arising, for arising, all dharmas abide only in the nature of not obstructing, and not all, this should be understood. If there is knowledge, then these defilements will not arise either, because there is no attainment, etc., so there is no gathering of conditions. Seeing the stars also does not arise because there is no gathering of conditions, and this should be connected and understood. Therefore, all dharmas except for one's own nature are the cause of conditioned arising, and this statement is appropriate. For example, taking action as non-harming, broadly speaking, it is like people thinking that the village lord does not harm, and saying that we are made happy by the lord. Why would they say that? Because he could harm but does not harm. For example, for the arising of all dharmas, what are nirvana and the dharmas of non-arising? It should be connected to how they become the entity of the cause. Like hell, etc., refers to hell and the animal realm, etc., how can the arising of the formless aggregates be the entity of the cause? Mentioning hell, etc., is because sometimes it is thought that perhaps through prediction, etc., it will become the cause. Even if they do not exist,
