Furthermore, it is said "conditioned" in order to fully grasp the meaning of "the nature of the conditioned." Like water and a water bubble, this is an example of dissimilarity, just as a water bubble is the nature of the existence of water, it is not permissible to think that it is not the nature of water itself. Why? Because it is the nature of the existence of conditioned things. Like the name of a daughter being good or non-virtuous, just as the names of daughters, good and bad, are in order the nature of virtue and non-virtue. If these are also like that, is it the nature of the existence of conditioned things? If it is considered to be the nature of virtue and non-virtue, then these three are the nature of the conditioned, and it will be declared as such. If it is not the nature of the conditioned, even if it is declared, it will still be declared. Therefore, know that the conditioned itself is the nature. Also, if arising and so on are not existent, then how are they established or manifested on the continuum? It is not said that arising and so on do not exist, but rather that they do not exist in the way that they are distinguished in the nature of things. Then, according to your view, please speak truthfully about the way they exist. Therefore, it is said in detail that the beginning of the continuum is arising. Cessation is the destruction of the continuum. The continuation of the continuum, because dissimilar moments continue uninterrupted, the continuation of the continuum is called abiding. Its difference of before and after refers to the difference between the later moment and the earlier moment, or the difference between the earlier and later moments is the difference of before and after. Because of this, arising and so on are only the nature of the continuum, so it is spoken from the recollection of the venerable Mdzés Dga's abiding. Its feeling is connected with the continuum, arising as it is known, abiding as it is known, and completely exhausting and ending as it is known. Because it is difficult to understand, therefore

It is not endowed with ga (ག་), because it is impossible for a moment to remain even if it is known. In order to summarize this meaning with two verses, it is said that "the first of the continuum is birth," and so on. The so-called "that which exists" refers to the continuum itself existing. The so-called "that itself" refers to that very continuum. The so-called "that cessation" refers to the cessation of the continuum. The so-called "for momentary dharmas" is a verse, and if one thinks that if momentary dharmas did not exist, they would perish, therefore they exist, then even if that dharma exists, it will still perish, because it is momentary, and because destruction has no cause, it will surely perish. Therefore, speculation there is meaningless, meaning that there is no need to speculate about existence. Speculation about the existence of the second moment and so on is not meaningless. Therefore, the so-called "existence is only a continuum" is because there is no point in speculating about existence for momentary dharmas. If it is said in this way, then the so-called "this also" refers to saying that existence is only a continuum. Regarding "for a born moment, there is no non-destruction," some people think that because of existence, a single momentary dharma that has arisen will not be destroyed. If one thinks that if there is no existence, then that single moment will not exist either, that is not correct, because its very existence is "when this exists, that arises," because it has causes and conditions and is preceded by them. If one thinks that existence holds, if one wants to say that a dharma born from causes and conditions is held by existence, then what would happen if existence did not hold? It would not exist itself. Then it would become that existence produces, but not that existence makes it exist. If existence makes the continuum exist, then it would be inferred that causes and conditions are called existence, because causes and conditions are the cause of the continuum. The so-called "it is permissible for similar minds" means that for one similar type, even if there are many minds, it is still one simila

Because it arises from that, it is thought to be one. However, that mind can be called one mind. If it is not like that, how can one moment of mind arise, die, abide, and change? The continuous succession of later moments is called abiding, which is said to be because the later moment is the same as the earlier moment. Therefore, the earlier moment seems to still abide, so the later moment is called abiding. If so, when does it also arise in the same way? If so, when it arises in the same way, there is no difference at that time. The nature of abiding and changing has been said to be the nature of difference. Therefore, for those who arise in the same way, there is no nature of abiding and changing, so it is thought that it will become a non-pervasive nature. Throwing and not throwing, and throwing with great force and small force, this is explained in detail, saying that it is throwing and not throwing, so it is throwing and not throwing. Throwing with great force and small force means throwing with great force and small force. Since it is both throwing and not throwing, and also throwing with great force and small force, it is throwing and not throwing, and throwing with great force and small force. What is that? It is like a vajra. The word "etc." includes iron and stone, etc. Others make sentences like this: throwing and not throwing are those who throw and do not throw. Those who throw with great force and small force are those who throw with great force and small force, and these two are the differences of throwing. Here, the vajra has throwing and not throwing, and throwing with great force and small force, so the vajra, etc., is throwing and not throwing, and throwing with great force and small force. In this sentence construction, the vajra, etc., is the difference, and throwing and not throwing, and throwing with great force and small force, are the basis of the difference. Such vajras, etc., fall slowly, quickly, very slowly, and very quickly, as appropriate, that is, throwing.
