What is the nature of other things? In order, they are: that mind's wisdom is unequal, and all of mind's memories. The wisdom that is similar to consciousness is called mind's wisdom. Unequal placement is called unequal, which is necessarily a discriminating discrimination. All of mind's memories, both equal and unequal placements, are subsequent discriminations. What are the objects with an object? What are the objects without an object? Objects with an object are the seven realms of mind, namely the eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, consciousness realm, and mind realm. These seven realms of mind are objects with an object because they hold onto objects. The aspect of Dharma, and objects with an object, are any nature that arises from the mind. The remaining ten form aggregates, and those that do not possess the aspect of the Dharma realm, are established as being without an object. What are the grasped? What are the ungrasped? There are nine ungrasped. What are the nine? They are the seven that were said to have an object, and the eighth that was said to possess an aspect, these eight and sound. Thus, the seven realms, the Dharma realm, and the sound realm, these nine are ungrasped. The other nine are of two types, grasped and ungrasped. Among them, the eye, ear, nose, tongue, and body, those that are presently occurring are grasped. The past and future are ungrasped. The form, sound, smell, taste, and touch realms, those that are presently occurring and are not different from the faculties are grasped. The others are ungrasped, such as, apart from the roots, hair, body hair, teeth, and so on, and feces, urine, saliva, mucus, and blood, and so on, and earth and stones, and so on. What is the nature that arises from the realms? What is the transformation from arising? There are two types of touch, arising and transformation from arising. Among them, arising is the four. Transformation from arising is the seven types such as smoothness, because arising exists in itself. The remaining nine form aggregates are, the five sense realms transformed from arising and the object

Those peaceful ones are by nature derived from the elements. A portion of the Dharma realm is also derived from the elements, and is called non-manifest. Therefore, the others are established as neither. What are the aggregates? What are the non-aggregates? The ten with form are aggregates. The realms of the five faculties and the five objects are aggregates because they are composed of fine particles. Among the eighteen realms, what is the cutter? What is to be cut? What is the burner? What is to be burned? What is the measurer? What is to be measured? The cutter is what is to be cut. The external realms are four. Form, smell, taste, and touch are called the axe and wood, and so on. How so? The cutter is what is to be cut. Just as the external realms are four. Likewise, the burner and the measurer are the same. It itself is what is to be burned, and it itself is also the measurer. There are different views on burning and measuring. Some say that those four realms themselves are both the burner and what is to be measured. Some say that the fire realm itself is the burner, and the heavy object itself is what is to be measured. Among the realms, what are born from maturation? What are born from increase? What are born from similar causes? What possess substance? What are momentary? It is said: Born from maturation, and born from increase, are the inner five. For the moment, the five inner realms such as the eye are both born from maturation and born from increase. Sound is born from increase, and born from similar causes, but sound is not born from maturation. Why? Because it can enter at will. Born from similar causes, and born from maturation. The eight unobstructed ones. What are the eight? The seven mind realms and the Dharma realm, produced by the cause of equipotency and the cause of pervasiveness, are born from similar causes. Produced by the cause of maturation, are born from maturation. There is nothing born from the eighth. Because there is no unobstructed one, and so on. The others are three kinds. The others are the remainder.
