The last three of the three categories. Among them, the eighty-eight latent tendencies, as well as those that arise simultaneously with them, and their attainment (and) retinue, these are to be abandoned by seeing. The remaining contaminated dharmas are to be abandoned by meditation. The uncontaminated dharmas are not to be abandoned. If someone asks: Is there not something else to be abandoned by seeing, since the nature of ordinary beings, as well as the physical and verbal actions of the lower realms, are also contrary to the noble path? Answer: They are not to be abandoned by seeing. Thus, to summarize: Not afflicted, not abandoned by seeing, not form, not born from the sixth. That which is not afflicted, there is not even a little that is to be abandoned by seeing. Those who have completely severed the roots of virtue and those who are free from desire, also because they possess these, the nature of ordinary beings is not afflicted, but is indeterminate. If one were to admit that the forbearance of knowing the Dharma of suffering is also the nature of ordinary beings, it would be too extreme. It is also not form, because if physical and verbal actions were form, one would not wrongly conceive of the truths. Therefore, they are also not to be abandoned by seeing. It is also not born from the sixth (mental faculty), the mental faculty is called the sixth. That which is born from other than that is not born from the sixth, that is, born from the five faculties. These are also not to be abandoned by seeing. Among the eighteen elements, what is seeing and what is not seeing? The eye element and a portion of the Dharma element are seeing. What are they? It is said: There are eight kinds. The five views, such as the view of the aggregates, as well as worldly correct view, the view of learners, and the view of non-learners. These eight are the views of the Dharma element. The rest are not views. Among them, the view of the aggregates, etc., will be explained in the fifth chapter of the Treasury of Knowledge. Worldly correct view is that which is associated with consciousness, it is wholesome wisdom with outflows. The uncontaminated view of learners is that of learners. That of non-learners is that of non-learners. Again, why is it that only that which is associated with consciousness is called worldly view? Because of what? Associated with the five consciousnesses

The wisdom born of co-emergent wisdom. Because there is no definite discrimination, it is not a view. Definite discrimination is a view, that is, fixation enters the mind. The wisdom that arises simultaneously with consciousness is its path, therefore, it is not a view. Now, even if the eye itself has no definite discrimination, how is it a view? It is by the meaning of seeing form. Why? The eye sees all forms. If the eye can see form, then when it is combined with other consciousnesses, can it also see? Not all eyes can see, like this, possessing dependence. It is only when it is combined with consciousness that it can see, not the others. Even so, is it the consciousness residing in the eye itself that sees? It cannot be determined that the consciousness residing on it sees. Why? Because what is separated by a screen is not seen. If consciousness sees, then it should be unobstructed. Because it is also unobstructed for screens and the like. If one can see even when obscured by screens and the like, then one should not not see. Therefore, it is the eye itself that possesses dependence that sees, not the consciousness residing on it. Does one eye see all forms, or do two eyes see? There is no certainty about this. How is it known that the eye is seen by two eyes? Because it sees clearly. Like this, if both eyes are opened, one will see very clearly, therefore, it is also seen by two eyes. Also, how do these eyes and the like encounter objects? Do they encounter or not encounter? The eye and, the mind and the ear do not encounter objects. The remaining nose and tongue and body, called the three remaining, are words that encounter objects. Also, do these eyes and the like, for objects equal to their own size, enter quickly like a fire wheel, therefore can they grasp mountains and the like? Or do they grasp equal and unequal objects? For the time being, for those that have been said to encounter objects, the three, nose and the like, are thought to grasp equally with the object. As many sense organ atoms as there are, with that many object atoms, after encountering, they generate consciousness. The two, eye and ear, are uncertain, sometimes when seeing the tip of a hair, it is very small. Sometimes
