The four are the realms of form, smell, taste, and touch. These are also born from maturation, also born from growth, and also born from the same cause. Together with matter. The unconditioned is matter for the sake of showing. Moreover, it exists in the realm of phenomena, therefore one aspect of the realm of phenomena is endowed with matter. The last three are momentary, namely the mind realm and the dharma realm, and the consciousness realm, in the first uncontaminated collection of the patience of knowing the dharma, one moment is not born from the same cause, therefore it is called momentary. Among them, the mind that corresponds to the patience of knowing the dharma in suffering is the mind realm and the consciousness realm. What arises simultaneously with it is the dharma realm. This should be examined: If one obtains the eye realm without having it, is the consciousness realm also the same? Or is any part of the consciousness realm also the eye realm? It is said: The eye and the consciousness realm are different from each other, and there are also those that are obtained simultaneously. For a while, they are different from each other, that is, in the desire realm, one gradually obtains the eye faculty, and when one dies from the formless realm and is born in the second dhyana and so on, one has the eye realm but not the consciousness realm. There are also those who have the consciousness realm but not the eye realm, that is, those who are born in the second dhyana and so on, who manifest the eye consciousness, and then die and are born in the lower realms. There are also those who obtain both simultaneously, that is, when they die from the formless realm and are born in the desire realm and the Brahma world. What is not both is other than these forms. Among the realms, how many are internal? How many are external? There are twelve internal ones. Which twelve? Except for form and so on, the six consciousnesses and the six places, these twelve realms are internal. The six object realms, such as form and so on, are external. Among the realms, how many are dependent and how many are independent? How many are those that are dependent?

In short, the so-called "dharma" is that which exists dependently. Whatever is the object of a consciousness, if it is determined to be the object of a consciousness, and that consciousness arises there, or the object of the dharma that will arise, is called "dependently existing." There is no realm of dharma that can cause the infinite consciousness of mind to arise or not arise. Just like this, for all noble beings, this mind that considers all dharmas to be without self will definitely arise, and apart from arising together with one's own nature, all dharmas are objects. In the object of the second instant, all dharmas will change, therefore, the realm of dharma is constantly dependently existing. The rest are also dependently existing. The word "also" indicates that it is also dependently existing. So, what is dependently existing? It refers to those things that do not perform their own function. Those things that perform their own function will be explained as dependently existing. For example, the eye, by which one can see or will see various forms, is called dependently existing. Just like the eye, it should also be said of the mind, because it also acts on its own object. What is dependently existing refers to the eye that has stopped without seeing various forms, or is stopping, or will stop, or is a dharma that does not arise. Similarly, it should also be understood for the body and so on. The mind itself is a dharma that does not arise, so it is dependently existing. Furthermore, the various forms that are seen, are being seen, or will be seen by the eye are all dependently existing. What is dependently existing has four situations: those that have stopped without being seen, are stopping, will stop, and those dharmas that do not arise. Similarly, for touch and so on, it should also be understood as functioning through one's own sense, so it is dependently existing, and its dependently existing. Eye consciousness and so on are dependently existing, and its dependently existing itself is the dharma of arising and non-arising, so it is the same as the case of the mind realm. Among the various realms, which are to be abandoned through seeing? Which are to be abandoned through meditation? And which are not to be abandoned? In short, ten of the form dharmas are to be abandoned through meditation. There are also five, namely the five aggregates of consciousness.
