The co-existent cause that has an effect, the function of those two is to act on the co-existent result. There are three times of arising: the so-called time of arising refers to the future that tends towards arising. There, the equalizing cause, the pervasive cause, and the ripening cause all function. For the time being, the condition of the cause is like that. The other two conditions are the opposite of this. In what way are the conditions of the cause said to be two kinds, and the opposite of this is the immediately preceding condition and the objective condition, which should be known. The immediately preceding condition is to open up opportunities, so it functions at the time of arising. The objective condition is held by the present (immediate) mind and mental factors, so it functions at the time of cessation. The dominant condition is that which exists in the nature of being unobstructed at all times, and this is the dominant condition. The conditions and their functions have been explained. Furthermore, what dharma is produced by several conditions? Four, mind and mental factors. For these, their causal condition is the five causes. The immediately preceding condition is those that were previously offered by other minds and mental factors. The objective condition is, as appropriate, the five objects and all dharmas. The dominant condition is all dharmas except for one's own nature. Three, two attainments. The cessation attainment and the non-conceptual attainment, because they have no object, have no objective condition. The causal condition of these two is two kinds of cause, namely, the co-existent cause is arising and so on. The equalizing cause is the similar virtuous dharmas that arose earlier. The immediately preceding condition is the one who possesses the mind of attainment in a similar way. The dominant condition is the same as before. Because it arises from the manifestation of the mind of those attainments, it is the immediately preceding condition of the mind, but because it obstructs the arising of the mind, it is not the immediately preceding condition. Others arise from the two. Other non-associated and form dharmas arise from the cause and the dominant condition. As it is said, things are cause and

If someone asks, what is the reason for saying that for all beings born from causes and conditions, the Isvara, the Self, and the Lord, etc., are not the sole cause? Because Isvara, etc., are not the sole cause, and because of the sequence, etc. (If Isvara or something else existed as the sole cause, then all beings should arise simultaneously. However, things are seen to arise sequentially, therefore, the cause of the world is not Isvara, etc.). The mention of "etc." is to indicate the unseen, the causeless, the invisible, and the various diverse causes, etc. Others are born from the two. If someone asks, since it is said that way, how can ashes be the cause and condition of the aggregates? Its cause is two kinds of aggregates, meaning the cause of the aggregates, coming from both co-emergent and equal division. There are five ways of transformation from the aggregates. For things transformed from the aggregates, the aggregates act as the cause in five ways: namely, arising, depending, abiding, manifesting, and increasing. These are also the cause of action. Or, the five different ways are: the cause of arising is because they arise from them; the cause of depending is because after being born, they are consistent with appearance, just like depending on a teacher, etc.; the cause of abiding is because they become the place of dependence, just like the wall of a painting; the cause of manifesting is because it is the uninterrupted cause; the cause of increasing is because it is the reason for increase. Thus, they are shown to be the cause of arising, changing, depending, abiding, and increasing. The three aggregates of transformation are mutually causes, namely, the co-emergent cause, the equal division cause, and the ripening cause. The acting cause is the undifferentiated existence, therefore, everything is not counted. Among them, the co-emergent cause is the actions of body and speech completely following the mind, they are mutually, the form that is the cause is not other. The equal division cause is that everything previously produced is of equal division. The ripening cause is the ripening of body and speech.
