Now, each of them needs to be explained by definition. Among them, from the eye and so on up to the male organ, and the mind, have already been explained. The life faculty and faith, etc., will be explained among the non-associated formations and mental factors. Since it is necessary to explain pleasure, etc., and omniscience, etc., it needs to be stated. The body feeling discomfort, the faculty of suffering is discomfort, which is called harm, is a synonym for suffering. Happiness is comfort. The body's feeling of comfort is the faculty of pleasure. Comfort is called benefit, is a synonym for happiness. The third dhyana's, that of the mind is the faculty of pleasure. The third dhyana's mind feeling comfortable, that itself is the faculty of pleasure, because there are no five aggregates of consciousness there, so there is no body feeling. The other itself is happiness. Other than the third dhyana, the desire realm and the first dhyana, the second dhyana's mind feeling comfortable, that is the faculty of mental pleasure. In the third dhyana, because of being separated from the desire for joy, there is no faculty of mental pleasure, only the faculty of pleasure itself, because the mind's pleasure is joy. The mind's discomfort, displeasure and equanimity, are the middle. Neither comfortable nor uncomfortable, neither painful nor happy feeling, is called the middle. Question, is the faculty of equanimity bodily or mental? Answer: Both. Why are these two similarly made into one faculty? Because of non-discrimination. The mind and mental factors mostly produce happiness and suffering from discrimination, but the body is not like that, but due to the influence of the object, even an Arhat will produce it, therefore, those two are different faculties, while equanimity arises naturally in a state of non-discrimination, so the body and mind faculties are made into one. On the paths of seeing, cultivation, and no more learning, there are nine (faculties), namely mind and pleasure, mental pleasure and equanimity, and the five of faith, etc., these nine faculties on those three paths, are called three faculties. On the path of seeing, not understanding

It is the faculty that knows everything. The path of meditation is the faculty that knows everything. The path of no more learning is called the faculty that possesses the knowledge of everything. After showing its own nature, among the faculties, how many are with outflows? How many are without outflows? And so on, various distinctions should be stated. Among them, briefly speaking about the faculty that knows everything, etc., those just mentioned, the three are without defilements, meaning without outflows. Because defilements are synonyms for outflows. Form, life, and suffering, etc., the seven form faculties with outflows, as well as the life faculty, suffering, and displeasure are all with outflows. What is called form is the seven faculties of eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, male, and female, because they are included in the form aggregate. Nine are twofold, mind, pleasure, joy, equanimity, and the five of faith, etc., these nine faculties are both with outflows and without outflows. Among the faculties, how many are ripening? How many are not ripening? Life is ripening. The life faculty is solely ripening. Twelve are twofold. What are the twelve? The last eight and displeasure, except for the type, the last eight of faith, etc., and displeasure, except for the life faculty, the other twelve are both ripening and not ripening. Among them, the seven of eye, etc., that arise from growth are not ripening. The rest are ripening. The faculties of mind and suffering, as well as pleasure, joy, and equanimity, the virtuous, afflicted, behavioral, skillful, and transformative, as appropriate, are not ripening. The rest are ripening. The twelve of eye, etc., and the rest except for the life faculty, are established as not ripening. Among the faculties, how many possess ripening? How many do not possess ripening? The displeasure just mentioned is,

One of them is included in Vipaka (result). The only one is included in Vipaka. The word 'is' should be understood as 'is exactly', and should be connected in another order. That is not unindicated, nor is it without Samahita, nor is it without leakage. Therefore, in unpleasantness, there is no absence of Vipaka. Ten are two: it is Vipaka, and it is not Vipaka. What are the ten? Mind and other feelings, faith, etc. The saying 'other feelings' refers to feelings other than unpleasantness, and faith, etc., namely faith, diligence, mindfulness, Samadhi, and wisdom. Among them, mind, happiness, pleasantness, and equanimity are included in the impure of non-virtue and virtue, which are included in Vipaka. Those without leakage and those that are not recorded are not Vipaka. The power of suffering is virtue and non-virtue, which are included in Vipaka. Those that are not recorded are not Vipaka. Those with leakage such as faith are included in Vipaka. Those without leakage are not Vipaka. Others are established as not Vipaka. How many are virtuous? How many are non-virtuous? How many are unrecorded? Briefly speaking, eight are virtuous, five are faith, etc., and three are all-knowing powers, which are all virtuous. Unpleasantness has two aspects: virtue and non-virtue. Mind and other feelings have three aspects: virtue, non-virtue, and unrecorded. The other is one. What is the so-called 'other'? It refers to the eyes, etc., and the eighth life force, which are unrecorded. Among these powers, which power belongs to which realm? The desire realm, except for the immaculate. Briefly speaking, the power associated with desire, except for all those without leakage such as the all-knowing root, they are not corresponding. Male and female and the root of suffering, except for the form realm. It should also be connected to 'except for the immaculate'. The so-called 'suffering' refers to suffering and unpleasantness.
