It is everywhere, no matter how small, it is everything. The virtuous realm of the formless realm is not the realm of activity of the lower realm with outflows. The virtuous dharmas of the formless realm, because they take their own ground and the upper ground, etc., as their objects, therefore they do not take the objects with outflows of the lower ground as their objects. The outflow-free dharma also takes all aspects of subsequent knowledge as its object, but it does not take the aspect of knowledge of dharma and the cessation of the lower ground as its object. The paths of immediate proximity take the lower ground as their object. From the perspective of these three types of meditative absorption and formless realms, the outflow-free dharma can eliminate afflictions. Because of being free from desire, it is also not the lower ground. Because it is not its antidote, it is also not its own ground, and because it is particularly superior, it is also not the upper ground. If even the pure is not, what need is there to mention the afflicted? Proximity also eliminates afflictions. The proximity of the form and formless realms, the pure can also eliminate afflictions, because it is the antidote to the lower ground. How many proximities are there? For them, there are eight proximities. Each one has a proximity that enters into it. Are they also three types? Are their feelings also the same as them? The answer is no, the pure is neither pleasure nor pain. They are pure and are to be diligently remembered, and because they have not departed from aversion to the lower ground, they possess equanimity, and because they are the path of detachment from desire, they are not similar to experiencing. The first noble one is also like this. The first immediate path of proximity is pure and also outflow-free. If the mind of proximity itself connects, it will also become afflicted, but for samadhi, affliction itself is prevented. Some say that there are three types. Some say that there is also an experience similar to the immediate path. It is also called proximity, and it is also called special meditative absorption, so is it the same meaning or different meanings? The meaning is different, proximity is the path of detachment from desire, non-conceptual meditative absorption and meditative absorption itself.

Yes. The most excellent of the dhyanas, and that which does not possess examination and the like, is the excellent dhyana. Therefore, in the second dhyana and so on, there is no excellence, so it is not established separately. This excellent dhyana is of three kinds: corresponding to tasting pleasure, defiled, and undefiled. Neither pleasure nor pain, because there is neither pleasure nor pain in this, so it is neither pleasure nor pain, which means corresponding to the faculty of equanimity. Because it corresponds to manifest attention, it does not correspond to joy. Therefore, it is difficult to accomplish. What is the excellent result of this excellent dhyana? The result is the Great Brahma. By meditating on this excellent dhyana, one will become the Great Brahma. Furthermore, all samadhis are summarized. In the sutras, there are three kinds of samadhi taught: samadhi with examination and analysis, samadhi without examination but only analysis, and samadhi without examination and without analysis. Among them, for a while, because only examination of the excellent dhyana is blocked, it is samadhi without examination but only analysis. Below that, samadhi with examination and analysis, which is not different from the first dhyana, is with examination and analysis. Above that, both are absent. Therefore, since both are absent, above the excellent dhyana, from the preparatory stage of the second dhyana up to the peak of existence, the samadhi is without examination and without analysis. Furthermore, in the sutras, there are three samadhis taught: the samadhi of emptiness, the samadhi of wishlessness, and the samadhi of signlessness. The samadhi that corresponds to the aspect of signless peace and the aspect of the truth of cessation is the signless samadhi, which has four aspects. Nirvana is signless because it is free from the ten signs, and the samadhi that focuses on it is the signless samadhi. The ten signs are: The five objects, male and female, and the characteristics of conditioned phenomena, etc. Empty and
