What is the unobstructed wisdom that knows all phenomena? What is the power of remembering past lives? It is the wisdom that knows without obstruction the cycle of lives of oneself and others. What is the power of knowing death and birth? It is the wisdom that knows without obstruction the connection of continuity in future existences. What is the power of knowing the exhaustion of defilements? It is the wisdom that knows without obstruction the exhaustion of defilements and the means to exhaust them. The four fearlessnesses, the three mindfulnesses, and great compassion are as described in the sutras. Thus, these are the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha. Because they are unshared, they are called unshared. Among them, knowing what is possible and impossible has ten aspects. The power of knowing what is possible and impossible is ten kinds of wisdom. The results of actions have eight aspects. The power of knowing the maturation of actions has eight kinds of wisdom, excluding the knowledge of cessation and the path. Meditations, etc., faculties, aspirations, and realms have nine aspects. The power of knowing meditation, liberation, samadhi, and attainments has nine kinds of wisdom, excluding the knowledge of cessation. The power of knowing various aspirations, the power of knowing superior and inferior faculties, and the power of knowing various realms should also be understood in the same way. There are ten aspects to the path, or (nine aspects). The word "or" distinguishes the meaning of knowing nine or ten aspects. If the path is spoken of as being united with the result, then the power of knowing all paths of practice is ten kinds of wisdom. If it is not so, then it excludes the knowledge of cessation. Two are conventional wisdom. The power of knowing the remembrance of past lives and the power of knowing death and birth are only conventional wisdom. The exhaustion of defilements has six or ten aspects. If the power of knowing the exhaustion of defilements is only the knowledge of cessation, then the power of knowing the exhaustion of defilements has six kinds of wisdom: the wisdom of phenomena, the wisdom of categories, the wisdom of cessation, the wisdom of exhaustion, the wisdom of non-arising, and conventional wisdom. Or, if the power of knowing the exhaustion of defilements is the knowledge of the continuum of the exhaustion of defilements, then its...

Therefore, there are ten kinds of wisdom, and the nature has been explained. Now to be spoken of are: the powers of former abodes, death, transference, and birth, are the powers of meditative absorption. The power of knowing former abodes, death, transference, and birth is the realm of the fourth meditative absorption. What remains? It is the sum of all realms. These also include the desire realm, unobstructedness, special meditative absorption, and meditative absorption and the formless realms. All of these rely on the body of a being born in Jambudvipa (the southern continent), because Buddhas do not appear in other places. Those ten kinds of wisdom of others are not called powers. That is the power of the sole Buddha. Why? Because that power is unobstructed. Because his wisdom is unobstructed to all knowable things. Therefore, it is called power, while the wisdom of others is obstructed, because in some cases, even if one wants to, one cannot enter. Therefore, their wisdom is not worthy of obtaining the name of power. An example here is that the venerable Shariputra abandoned the relics of his mother who wanted to renounce, and the last life of a bird tormented by an eagle, and so on. In short, because the wisdom of the Buddhas is unobstructed, the power of the mind is as limitless as the knowable things. The power of the body is said to be equivalent to the power of the son of Anavatapta (born from Lake Anavatapta). Some say that each part of the body has the power of the son of Anavatapta. But venerable one, that power is also limitless like the power of the mind. If it were not so, the limitless power of wisdom would also be unbearable. The parts of the bodies of Buddhas and Chakravartins are as strong as rolled-up ropes, interlocking chains, and nails. What is the extent of the power of the son of Anavatapta? The power of ten elephants is equivalent to the power of seven Garudas. The power of ten ordinary elephants is equivalent to the power of one fragrant elephant. Similarly, great power, extremely suppressing power, the power of the best limbs, the best power, and the sons of Anavatapta all increase tenfold from one to the next.
