Explanation of Wisdom of Enlightenment. The previous explanation of enlightenment is as follows: Whatever is the wisdom of exhaustion and the wisdom of non-arising, that itself should be understood here as wisdom. What mind, whether past, future, or present, will become liberated? The mind of no more learning will arise, and will be liberated from obscurations. It is said in the scriptures that the mind of no more learning will arise in the future and will be liberated from obscurations. What are its obscurations? It is the acquisition of afflictions, because it hinders its arising. It will be abandoned by a vajra-like samadhi, and that mind of no more learning that will arise will also become liberated. Having abandoned it, that mind of no more learning is also born and completely liberated. Any worldly mind that is not going to arise may also be liberated, but only that which is certain to arise is explained here. From what will the worldly mind be liberated? From the very obscuration of arising. So. In liberation, doesn't the worldly also arise? No, it is not the same as that. What is it like? It is accompanied by the acquisition of afflictions. In what circumstances does it abandon the obscuration of arising? By the path that will cease, its obscuration is completely abandoned. That is the meaning of "like that." What is explained as unconditioned liberation, and what are the realms of abandoning the three realms, the realm of detachment from desire, and the realm called cessation, what is the difference between them? Unconditioned itself is called realm. Liberation, which is unconditioned, is itself the three realms. Among them, the complete exhaustion of desire is detachment from desire. The realm of abandonment is associated with the complete exhaustion of others. The abandonment of afflictions other than desire is the realm of abandonment. The realm of cessation is associated with the complete exhaustion of the four (feelings, perceptions, formations, and consciousness). The abandonment of the four other than afflictions is the realm of cessation. With what things does the mind...

If the arising things will be free from attachment? There are four possibilities. How so? Through the forbearance and knowledge of suffering and its cause, aversion arises. Only through forbearance and knowledge of suffering and its cause will aversion arise, not through others. By what is abandoned, all will be free from attachment. Regarding suffering, its origin, cessation, and path, whatever forbearance and knowledge abandon afflictions, all of these will also be free from attachment. Thus, the four possibilities are established. Aversion itself, regarding suffering and its origin, forbearance and knowledge do not abandon afflictions, because they are focused on the object of aversion. Non-detachment itself, regarding cessation and the path, forbearance and knowledge abandon afflictions, because they are focused on the object of supreme joy. Both are the former abandoning afflictions. Neither is the latter abandoning afflictions. In this regard, if someone free from attachment observes the truths, Dharma-knowledge and forbearance do not abandon afflictions. Wisdoms, however, are not abandoned by those included in the path of union, liberation, and distinction. The commentary on the Abhidharma-kosa, the 'Exposition of the Path and Persons' in accordance with the Sutra, is the sixth chapter of the Kosa. The term 'forbearance' also appears, as does 'knowledge.' 'Right view' also appears, as does 'right wisdom.' So, is it forbearance but not knowledge, or is it right wisdom but not right view? Immaculate forbearance is not wisdom, because it has not abandoned the subtle increase of doubt to be abandoned. Because they are of the nature of truly contemplating, they are not view. Just as forbearance is view but not knowledge, the knowledge of exhaustion and the knowledge of non-arising are not view. The knowledge of exhaustion and the knowledge of non-arising are also not view, because they are not truly contemplating, nor are they of the mind of completely seeking. Other than that, the other noble wisdoms, other than forbearance, the knowledge of exhaustion, and the knowledge of non-arising, the remaining undefiled wisdom is view.
