These six are: wanting to remember breathing in and out. This is called the summarizing verse. Among them, whose body is breathing in and out? Because it is a part of the body. The body of the sixth ground, it should also be known that those two are also of that ground. Those two, breathing in and out, are also called sentient beings. It is not that they are not counted as sentient beings. Unapprehended, because it is different from the faculties. Born from a similar cause. The body grows and becomes short, and from the measure it combines with itself, therefore it arises from growth, it is not born from fruition, because this is the formless of fruition. The lower, the mind cannot understand those two. One's own ground and the higher ground, the mind of those two can understand, but the lower ground cannot understand either, nor can the practitioner and the emanation. The two doors of entry have been explained. In order to cultivate insight after obtaining the samadhi of those two, after calm abiding has been accomplished, mindfulness should be cultivated. How should it be done? For body, feeling, mind, and phenomena, completely examine them with two characteristics. Body, feeling, mind, and phenomena, completely examine them as self-characteristic and general characteristic. Their own nature is the self-characteristic. The general characteristic is that conditioned phenomena are all impermanent, contaminated phenomena are all suffering, and all phenomena are empty and selfless. What is the self-characteristic of the body? It is the four elements and what is made from the four elements. Those other than the three are phenomena. After entering into samadhi, seeing the parts of the atoms and moments on the body, the mindfulness of the body is accomplished. Also, what is the nature of the mindfulnesses? Mindfulness should be observed as three types, namely mindfulness of self-nature, mixed mindfulness, and mindfulness of object. Among them, mindfulness of self-nature is wisdom. What is it like? Wisdom arises from hearing and so on. Arising from hearing, arising from thinking, arising from meditation. Mindfulness also has three types, namely arising from hearing, thinking, and meditation. The others arise from mixing and object. The others

The dharmas that arise together with them are the mixed mindfulness. Its object, the body, etc., is the object of mindfulness. Their names are the same as the object, and the order is the same as the arising. Why does it arise like that? Because it is seen first in a rough order. So why are the truths determined to be only four? Because it is the antidote to perversion. To counter the four perversions of purity, happiness, permanence, and self, the four mindfulnesses are shown in order, neither more nor less. Three of them are directed towards the unmixed. The fourth is the object of both. If one only observes the dharma, then it is the object of the unmixed. But if one observes the general characteristics of two, three, or four of the body, etc., then it is the object of the mixed. Thus, after practicing the mindfulness of the body, etc., it abides in the general object of the dharma mindfulness. Observe them as impermanent, suffering, empty, and selfless. It abides in the mixed object of dharma mindfulness, and generally summarizes all of these, such as the body, and observes them as impermanent, suffering, empty, and selfless in four aspects. Then the heat arises. From practicing that dharma mindfulness, gradually the root of virtue called heat arises. Because it is similar to heat, it is heat, because it is the precursor of the noble path that burns the wood of afflictions. That is the realm of the four truths. Because the heat is constant, it focuses on the four truths, sixteen aspects. In suffering, observe the four aspects of impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness. In the origin, observe the four aspects of cause, origin, arising, and condition. In cessation, observe the four aspects of cessation, peace, excellence, and departure. In the path, observe the four aspects of path, reason, practice, and guidance, and the differences of these will be explained below. Warm
