That. The sutra says: It is certain that consciousness arises dependent on two things. Similarly, monks, in the arising of eye consciousness, the cause is the eye, and the condition is forms. Why is that? Because any eye consciousness arises dependent on the eye and forms. If that is the case, then the person will become impermanent. As the sutra says: The causes and conditions for the arising of eye consciousness are also impermanent. However, if its object is not a person, then it will not be an object to be cognized. Furthermore, if one asserts that a person is an object to be cognized by the six consciousnesses, then it will be different from form because it is an object to be cognized by ear consciousness, like sound. Because it is an object to be cognized by eye consciousness, it will be different from sound, like form. Similarly, this should be applied to others as well. Brahmins, these five faculties have different domains and different objects; each experiences its own domain and object, but does not experience the domain and object of others. These are the five faculties: the eye faculty, the ear faculty, the nose faculty, the tongue faculty, and the body faculty. The mind faculty experiences the domains and objects of these five faculties, and the mind faculty is the support of these. This also contradicts this sutra passage. Alternatively, the person will not be an object. If it is not an object, then it will not be an object to be cognized. If that is the case, then the mind faculty will also be infallible. As it says in the Sutra of the Sixth Living Being: These six faculties have different domains and different objects; each desires its own domain and object. There, it is not only said that the faculty is a faculty, but because it is impossible to want to see the five faculties and their consciousnesses, etc., it is by the power of those.

The consciousness of mind that is drawn is said to be the faculty. Whatever consciousness of mind is drawn solely by the faculty of mind, since it is not desired to be the object of other consciousnesses, therefore, there is no fault in that. The Blessed One also said, "Monks, all categories of phenomena that should be directly known and should be fully known should be explained." Then he said, "What should be directly known and should be fully known are the eye and forms, and the consciousness of the eye, and the contact arising from the union of the eye, and whatever internal feeling arises from the cause of the contact arising from the union of the eye, whether it is a pleasant feeling, a painful feeling, or a feeling that is neither pleasant nor painful," from this beginning up to the internal feeling arising from the cause of the contact arising from the union of the mind, he explained extensively. This is all the categories of phenomena that should be directly known and should be fully known. Therefore, what should be directly known and should be fully known are just these, and it should be definitely understood, because it is not a person. Therefore, this is also not something to be distinguished, because wisdom and consciousness have the same object. Some people say that the eye sees a person, and seeing a person is said to be seeing the self because of selflessness, therefore it also becomes a place for seeing the self. The Blessed One also clearly stated in the sutra that only the aggregates are called a person. In the sutra of definitive meaning, it is also said that relying on the eye and forms, the consciousness of the eye arises. The union of the three is contact. Simultaneously arising are feeling, perception, and intention, etc. Thus, the non-form aggregate and the eye faculty of form and these are called a human being. For this, sentient being, name and born of power, son of power, nurturer, person, life, and man, these are just names. For this, I say I see forms with the eye, this is just a false claim. For this, it is said, the name of the venerable one is this, the caste is this, the lineage is this, the food is eaten like this,

Aging and suffering are experienced in this way. Life can only last this long. How long does it exist? The end of life is like this. This is just a worldly saying. Monks, therefore, these are just names, these are just assumptions, these are just worldly sayings. All these dharmas are impermanent, conditioned, mind-made, and interdependent. The Blessed One also said to rely on the definitive meaning sutra. Therefore, this should be repeatedly contemplated. Similarly, the Brahmins say that everything exists, which refers to the completion of the twelve sources. If this person is not a source, then he does not exist. If it is said to be a source, then it cannot be spoken. According to their view, it is also said that how many monks are there, how much form is there, etc., after detailed explanation, how many monks are there, the Tathagata measures them all, saying that everything has been examined. In the "Corporeal Essence Sutra," it is also said that, monks, "I" and "mine" are just the delusions of ordinary people who have not heard or thought about it. There is no "I" or "mine" here. Only when suffering arises does it arise. The six Arhats also said from the perspective of Mara: Mara, what do you think sentient beings are? You are deluded by wrong views. This conditioned aggregate is empty. There are no sentient beings here. Just as the various parts are combined and called a cart, similarly, relying on the various aggregates, it is falsely called sentient beings. In the miscellaneous section of the Vinaya, taking the Brahmin son of the Jia tree as an example: How is the mind defiled by afflictions? How is the mind purified? The dharma that can destroy all bonds, son of the Jia tree, listen carefully. Oneself is without self, and is recognized by inverted views. There is no self or sentient being here. These dharmas are all causal, the twelve links of existence, aggregates, sources, realms, etc., if you think carefully about all of this,
